Howard is hoping to set up a special sub-section in his online store just for our trans parts. We're very close to having an easy, one stop shop for this stuff. Some parts are cheaper than CRS, some are more expensive. Everything should be ironed out over the next couple of weeks. ![]()

Witness our triumph
![]() ![]() I don't think I need to compare this to what's in the trans. It's got to be the right part. I'm still going to do it, but I'll bet a good chunk of change that we've got a winner on our hands folks ![]() Some other good news too. Thanks to a great find by Bret, we've found out how to extract transaxle part numbers out of the US version of CAPS (still no diagrams, but we don't need those) So far, everything matches perfectly with what I pulled out of the Japanese database.Last edited by Gatecrasher : 05-26-2004 at 09:09 PM. |

That's great news. Thanks for all of your hard work guys. I still have few more possible suppliers I am trying to get up with. Still waiting on words back from several others. I'll let every one know if I find anything.
oleg - Any idea how long it would take to get a set or two of 1/2 synchros shipped to the east coast of the US? Howard - Do you think there is any way to possibly speed up the shipping time on some of these parts?

Brett, Sadly no...That was one of the first questions that I asked Corporate. The product is already shipped via air freight(expedited shipping) which they roll into the price of the part. Japan quotes 3 to 4 weeks on 1 to 2 pieces(90 days on possible large orders of the same part) but like warranty NDA situations it could arrive faster(I wish I could say warranty rentals are involved). It just depends on the shipping schedule that Japan has arranged as to when the orders can be filled. Four of the parts that Oleg quoted are available in just a few days as they are considered standard U.S. Mitsu parts. Sorry....wish I could be of more help. Thanks, Howard Mentor Mitsubishi Parts Department |

Oleg said shipping times were like 10 days to the US from him with parts readily in stock. Looks like if you need it now, gotta have it, you should hit Oleg up for the 1/2 synchros. By the time you figure in shipping you will most likely be at the same cost as getting them from Howard. Either way we ahve two veins to poke at for what we thought was extinct. Excelent work guys!
BTW Howard - thanks for your help on the phone the other day. I will be calling you as soon as I replenish the bank acount. Brett - thanks for your help on the phone with the tips and info on the 6 speed! |

This is GREAT!! Huge thanks goes out to Gate and Bret, as well as everyone that has helped out.
Oleg- Thanks! Mentor Mitsu- This is excellent! Thank you! Looks like we are going in the right direction here. I wouldn't mind waiting on shipping, as long I know the parts are correct and they are definetly on their way from a reliable source. When my tranny needs a rebuild (probably not for a while yet) it is good to know the parts will be available. I wouldn't want to have to sit on my car with a non-working trans somewhere down the line knowing parts aren't available. Thanks again everyone! ![]()

I'm going to go buy my hydraulic press tonight. I found a 12 ton for $140.
I'll break my spare trans down and have a comparison some time this weekend. I can say with 95% certainty that this is the right part though. Howard is the guy that deserves the credit here. All I did was came up with some part numbers. Howard is the guy that went the extra mile (more like three or four) and figured out how to order parts for a transmission that officially cannot ever be opened ![]() |
