Driving While Ukrainian

few days ago while doing oil change I've noticed that my rubber thing, (I think its called boot) is riped. like half way and some greas was on the body. does it mean that I have to replace that axcel now? its front driver side.
how much do they cost?

Yeah you can change the boot yourself.
Your going to need snap ring pliers or something that can handle a hole-less snap ring. It takes about 30 minutes to do but its well worth it. you can get the boots from Autozone. Be sure not to get the split boot.

If you are not hearing any noises from it (like when you make a turn), it should be alright to clean it up then reinstall a new boot along with a bunch of grease. Usually when you have a torn front axle shaft boot (CV axle) and you didn't notice it soon enough, you'll need to replace the entire assembly due to sand/road grime getting into the U-joints. It may be a good idea to look into what it will cost for a new shaft(s), but you may have caught it early enough before any catastrophic damage occurred. GL man.

The quickboots are shit. they fail within a year and just dont fit up properly. I myself am looking to put a real boot back on.
