Both are brand new, I haven't checked them lately, but I don't think I have leaked even 1 drop of fluid since changing the hose. I will check again today to verify. Is it possibe if the hose is not tightened to the hard line on the slave that it may be drawing air into the hydraulic? not sure if the symptoms would promote this idea, but if its possible, then thats something I can look into..

thanks for the input.. keep em coming!

yes, make sure they are tight and not loose. It whouldnt hurt to re-bleed the system again. good luck.

I had a situation when my clutch would be very difficult to shift after sitting, loosen a little with use and then sometimes be a bear where it would stick in or out of gear. Turned out to be that I did not apply a little grease to the shaft that the clutch slides on to inside the tranny. Just a thought.

Thanks for the input guys.. going back to when the clutch hose initially went.. obviously when the hose burst, the pedal dropped to the floor with no effort.. after replacing and bleeding, it was never the same.. thats kind of where I am in trying to pin-point exactly what might be causing the problem.. maybe going back to the hose itself is a good point, especially since I have replaced almost everything..

The clutch seems to have better response when Im not boosting... ie, if I drive like granny style.. the clutch and transmission respond like the car is 2 days old.. if I get on it and boost, sometimes it feels like the clutch isnt getting much movement, and shifting can be notchy... example, if I do a hard 3rd gear pull and try to throw to 4th real quick and keep speeding up, sometimes it wont drop into 4th and the clutch feels like it barely disengages.. that is what initially led me to believe there might be an issue with the clutch booster..

Right now, I have the charcoal tank isolated and the tube thats on the firewall (that would connect to the long tube that runs next to the battery down to the charcoal canister) is capped off as well. This has had no effect on the clutch feeling. I was thinking of proceeding with capping off the entire clutch booster system so as to just have the hydraulics of the clutch only.

First of all, vacuum assist does not affect clutch engagement or dragging. It only helps you by reducing the effort. Still check to make sure that check valve works and you are not getting boost in clutch assist. It has be be vacuum only.

Does you clutch drag when you disengage it? How easy does it shift into first with engine running?

you mentioned that you replaced vacuum line between booster and plenum. You did replace it it with stock one, right? It has check valve inside and can only be installed one way.

Yea, I replaced it with an OEM from the local Mitsu dealer, in the right direction. It goes into first "fairly" easy, slight resistance, but not much of a problem, I mostly have problems at higher boost loads, ie, if I run 3rd gear out and want to go to 4th quick and keep accelerating, I usually have a hard time getting into 4th right away.. the pedal itself just feels "sloppy" if anyone knows how that feels, its got a lil top end play, and sometimes the movement of the pedal is decent, sometimes its not (like I said usually when Im boosting it doesnt feel to great when I hit the pedal) Its just really screwing and really sporadic, ever since I blew the line and replaced it, just never been the same..

I wonder if your bushings are worn. Might be worth a while replacing them with solid ones. Also look into adjusting shifter cables. I think both are adjustable on your car. I just do not see what else might be affected by the boost. Hydrolics or vacuum assist should not depend on boost if working properly.

If you put in 1, disengage the clutch rev up, does the car want to move? I guess I'd like to make sure your clutch is not dragging. How old is flywheel and clutch? How old is shift fork?

Na.. I tried that back early on, no movement, even all the way up to 7k..

The flywheel I assume is old, not sure, wasnt changed since I've had it, the clutch and fork were replaced by Mitsu in November. I will look into the bushings and the cables..
