Default Can i tow a awd 3000gt?

i am about to buy a 3000gt and my dad went out to rent a tow dolly for me. it didnt occur to eithor of us that the awd might not alow for us to tow the car using a dolly where only the rear or front tires would be on the ground. CAN I TOW A 3000GT VR4 WITH A REGULAR TOW DOLLY OR WILL THE AWD NOT ALOW IT???????? two of the tires will be on the ground and two will not. and if not could i just pull the drive shaft so that the rear tires are no longer hooked up to the trans?

Yeah, you can't town it with the awd. Get a flat bed

Yeah you could pull the drive driveshaft and I believe you should be ok, its not very easy to do if you dont have a lift yet a jack will do but its a pain in the ass. Just be safe get a flatbed and get it home safe. Dont try to be too creative here or you will not make it home a happy man. Good luck! and congrats on your vr-4 purchase...

unfortunatly u haul wont rent anything to me because "explorers are to dangerous to tow with"... $#%* them its fine i tow boats all the time how can it be dangerous. so i had to go to aero paper and supply to get a tow dolly and they dont have the type that you put the whole car up on. the cars about 2 hrs away tho.... i know it will prob be a pain but if all i can do is take the drive shaft out then i guess i kinda have to. the car was in an accident tho so im praying that the prev owner didnt have it towed imporperly. :-/ he clamed that it ran for 4 months after the crash tho so i doubt he had it towed if he kept driving it. and what exactly is a vcw? everyone talks about it but what is it??

lol yea sorry thats what i ment. what exactly does it do. when i was doing a tt fwd conversion everyone asked me to give them it from the awd mtx i was going to buy... i never did get the conversion done but what does it do? im guessing it has something to do with the power distribution between the tires (mainly the rears) but i have never had an awd car and never really even looked at them because i had a fwd that was fast enough for a highschool kid. but anyways im guessing you cant just buy one from 3sx or mitsu. so do you just buy a used awd mtx to get one? or will a used awd atx also have one?

just call a flat bed service. The car is worth it. And if they have a wreck, your covered. They are not expensive at all. consider your time, your dads time, the time on the road. It really is the cheap way out.

You should ask for a flatbed because you cant tow these any other way.
