I just had my 6spd rebuilt. I ran into a similar problem with the coupler. The new coupler I got on the bearing side, was too wide. I had to have the machine shop turn it down on the lathe, for about 1 inch along the shaft, so the bearing would fit on it. I have a stock 1998 Vr-4 trans, and luckily could show the shop the original to compare to. I got mine from Jack's transmissions, in Colorado. I don't hold him responsible, it must be there are two versions of this part out there, but only one mitsu number for it, according to the trans shop for a 25 spline transfer case coupler. Anyone else seen this before, or know why there would be 2 different couplers for 25 spline, on the bearing surface outer side dimension?
