Default Bracket on my 5-speed 18 spline transfercase... is this normal? It looks factory

Hello all.

I'm just in the process of replacing the oil seal on the output shaft of the transmission and when I took my transfercase out I noticed there was a metal bracket that went from the tailshaft section to the front section of my transfercase. Its got paint inspection markings on it and my question for all of you is this a factory piece? The transfercase was replaced via the recall about 7 years ago btw. Just wondering. Thanks
