Unless your having difficulty fixing a broken AWS I would suggest keeping it. The benefits of keeping AWS more than make up for 30lbs of weight reduction.

My only complaint about the AWS is when I take off from a light turning left and I am hammering it, it kinda throws me off when it kicks on in the middle of the turn.
As far as my own experience and from what I have read, the AWS is about the least problematic part on this car. I've never touched mine. Hard cornering at really high speeds kicksass with the AWS and it helps make up for the cars crappy weight ratio. 30lbs really isn't much weight savings, especially not if it will hurt the cars handling, and it is removing weight from the rear, further hurting the already extremely front biased weight of the car.
The driver seat is like 60lbs, swap the seats out for light weight buckets, there you just reduced way more weight Or relocate the battery to the rear, thats a super quick imrpovement in handling and reduction in engine bay clutter.
I ordered the kit from PMP. It was nice and easy to do, and when I had it ligned up, they said it was fine.
The only reason I changed mine is because I needed to replace every single piece... Everything rusted into a blob. Only part of the car that was rusty, wierd...
