I could kill you with....

I just got back from the 2008 East Coast Gathering and while I was there, someone (I won't name) said that the AWS only came on the '91 VR4s. I believe that is incorrect. I am sure that it was discontinued in the JDM cars, but stayed on ours.
I still have the original window sticker (although I'm the second owner). Mine lists AWS on it! It's a 97 VR4. Any feedback?

Yeah I'm not sure which Stealths didn't have it. I know that 96 stealths do not have it, and I also know some or all 95 stealths also don't have it. However, I know that Mellon's stealth (a 91 or 92) also did not have it ... but most do. So, I have no idea about that.

I know AWS only kicks in over 31 mph. It's same phase, meaning that the rear wheels turn up to 7 degrees (don't quote me) in the same direction as the front wheels. This enables the car to make quick lane changes without excessive body roll. IT IS NOT LIKE THE GMC COMMERCIAL. In the commercial, the wheels are working in opposite phase (for slow speed turning).
The following was from an unverified source*** The reason that the JDM cars didn't keep it resulted from its racing days where the AWS couldn't activate as fast as it was needed to and actually caused additional problems. |
