You will need a 6speed transmission, second gen transfer case, 6 speed driveshaft, and second gen rear diff.

If you find a JDM 6spd, or a 6spd with JDM ring & pinion gears, you will use your 5speed rear diff but still need the 6speed TC & DS.

You can if you want. If your car has an 18 spline TC it would be advantageous for sure.

The 6spd TC is stronger than the 25 spline 5 speed TC, but I don't know how you drive.

Well lol
I shift quick and like to take curves quick. lol
Itll be a daily driver with quarter mile racing every 2 weeks.
I heard that the 5 speed is better because the gears are longer.
But i would like to know the top speed on a 5 speed and 6 speed.

Sounds like either a 5 speed with a nocar transfer case, or a 6 speed with a bellhousing reinforcement plate are your two options, considering you're asking about top speeds which means you must have the big power required to reach it.

Stealth 316 - Gear Ratios

Top speed of 5 speed is a hair over 200, top speed of a 6 speed is around 240 I believe.

Top speed of either is limited by horsepower not gearing, unless you are running a dr800 or Evo 3 and up, you won't be seeing the end of your 5 speed gears. On very fast cars going to a 5 spd can save them a shift netting a slightly faster 1/4 mile time, the six speed cruises at a lower rpm on the highway.

The sixspeed t case is stonger due to its iron case vs the aluminum case of the 5 speed but the bellhousing is weaker and needs reinforced. If you are just driving the car like everyone else there is no reason to move to a six speed, especially if your 92 has a 25 spline tranny. If it has an 18, I would throw a 300m output shaft in it and call it a day.

What is the car? Stock? Modded?

I have a 92, and a 94, and have raced both (with bpu upgrades) and found that the difference between 5/6spd for dragging is all about what power your putting out. For instance with my 94, i found i had to shift into 4th close to the finish line at around 100+ mph, but with my 92 5spd i could power threw 3rd and hit the "red-line" at finish line around 110 MPH
But as said above definitely get rid of the 18 spline i went threw a few of those just with minor mods

I'm now into more of the "modded" category, and both my cars are about equal in HP. so im looking forward to seeing what the difference will be between the 5/6 speed now i fear i will have to get out of third just shy of the finish line with my 5 speed
