1st gen gsx tranny into my vr4
I just bought a 91 vr4 and the guy that had it before me bought a tranny of ebay for it. The tranny grinds in when shifting into gears quick. i noticed that it was leaking fluid when i got under it and it was jb welded on the side of it. So who knows how low and or how long it was driving that low. I draind the rest of the fluid and put new stuff in but it still is leaking of course. I know the syncros r goin and needs probley a rebuild, but i dont have the extra $ to pay for the right now. A guy a work with said he used to have a 1st gen gsx and has a couple trannys at his house. Is that the same tranny as ours or will it not fit up. Im just curious because this would probably save me alot of $ if i can buy it from him for cheap than spendin lots of money for a rebuild or a new one.

Nope...Just be in the right place at the right time and u can snag a good working 18 spline trans on here fro not too much money.
