I guess the final word is that the 3K will not be making it to Richmond on Friday.

We went to the shop last night to check on the progress and I think every wire in the dash was laying on the floor.
At this point I'm just hopeing it will be back together and running by NG.

I had to twist Hubbys arm a little but he did agree to still bring me.
He's getting real discouraged we aren't getting past mechanical problems after a year of working on it
and not getting to go to the events we wanted to attend.

I'm disappointed that the 3K will not be making the trip but I'm still looking forward to meeting everyone and see your cars race at the track!
I plan on bringing the camcorder so maybe I can get some good footage of the event.

Now most important is that when you see two ol farts getting out of a green Dodge Ram please do not throw rocks! I repeat. Please don't throw rocks or other heavy objects to chase them off...that will be us!

I will be missing this meet also (as mentioned above). My fingers are crossed that your car is finished for NG. I am really hoping to see it. To let you know --> the pictures of you engine bay inspired me to put in some extra effort to make mine presentable. I have been spending the past 6 weeks of free time doing a 120k, with bearings, lifters, VSS, tranny synchros, and a bunch of little things. It would go so much faster if I did not take the time to clean and paint everything as I go, but I want an engine bay that looks at least half as good as yours.

I took a day of vacation today to work on it. I was really hoping to at least get to start it, even if not drive it. That did not happen, but getting close.

Attached are a couple photos of current progress. Even though not "show" quality, it is a HUGE improvement over what I started with. It is now even possible to tell that the fender-wells, and firewall are white.

I hope one day to get a chance to meet the VA crew. I will be at NG, so will make sure to hook up with any of you going to that.

What kind of problems are you having with the car? I thought it was a transmission issue?

WOW! I never thought I would inspire anyone. Thanks for the kind words.
I read your post to Hubby since he's the keeper of the engine bay and it made him smile.

Your engine bay looks great! Really clean and WHITE!
I'm sure it has taken a lot of extra work but it shows.

GOOD JOB!

And here's to NG May all our cars run and look like the day they left the showroom floor.

YEAAA.....I can understand why you would ask that question.
I'll try not to drag this out too much.

The car went to shop because the tranny was going into safe mode.
Just like any child away from home it acted perfectly fine for over 100 miles of test driving.
We were on our way to pick it back up when we received a call that it stated doing it again.
That’s when it was discovered the voltage was way too low and the alternator is going bad.
At that point we are making the assumption that it was probably messing with the TCU/electronics and possibly causing our problem.
So the alternator is replaced and we're back to the test driving again when smoke starts coming out from under the dash!
Now they are checking all the wiring and TCU for a short.

Basically just another 3S moment!

This is off-topic, but good for a bump . . . for great event, sure wish I could be there.

In my case "Brasso" metal polish worked really well for cleaning the paint in engine bay. Nothing else I tried came close. . The paint is "stained" in some places and not bright white, but looks SO much better than before.

Have fun everybody!
