Been having an intermittent starting problem with the car.
Sometimes it fires up fine, sometimes not so much...
I'll turn the key to on and radio lights up, fans will come on, but once I turn the key to run to start the car everything shuts down at once and starter doesn't run.
Could this be a bad ignition switch?
Background info: Good starter, did this before and after click click no start fix, new battery, new terminals
Maybe it's time to replace the cables?

I think my main question is can these symptoms be indication of a bad ignition switch. Or would a bad switch only cause the car not to supply power to the starter and everything else (fans, radio, lights) would remain on.
Need the car ready by thursday for cruise weekend in oc md so I'd even install a temp push button start if this sounds like a bad ignition switch.
I'm going to work on the cables and add a third ground tonight.
I know it's no further help, but my car did this exact same thing because of an annoying aftermarket alarm system that was in the car (like mb3000 mentioned). I got so fed up with it that I just had a quick relay put in straight from the ignition to the starter to bypass it. I'm really not sure what else would cause this, maybe a bad ground? But good luck, hope you get it figured out before Thursday!
