Default Tail light Wiring problems

This is on a '92 TT.

When I got the car, brake lights did not work.. signals did.

Brought it into dealership and they said my car was wired for 3-bulbs and I only have 2??? I know one is a dual-filament and I think the dealership was confused. At the time I was in a rush so they raped me and installed a relay in back to make things work. Signals & brakes function but when you have both on.. the signals blink twice as fast and I'm sick of it. Also, now the hazards do not turn the tails on. So they did a real hack job. I need to make it right.

I NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR REAR LIGHTS. Signals/brake/running/hazard.

I have a test light and experience with auto wiring but need the diagram to see what should be back there.

Thanks

Anybody have it?

I really need the diagram for the whole rear. There are at least 4 harnesses that are just hanging there...

Spent a couple hours online today searching through manuals to no avail.

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

wait. does your car have a 3-socket harness, or a 2-socket harness? r/t's should ALL have 2-socket harnesses. if you have a 3-socket in there, it's either from a 3kgt, or a stealth es/base.

I have 2 bulbs for each light. There appears to be 4 wires running to each side.

that's messed up. each side should have 5 wires, 2 light sockets (3 to the big, 2 to the small). that's just the tail/turn.

Do you know what wire is supposed to go where? Colors etc? I want to know if I'm better off getting a whole new harness from somewhere or piece this one together so it works....

the (r/t) harness i hold in my hand has 3 wires at the connector. one green w/ white stripe; one black; one green.

the solid green wire runs to the back of the large bulb.

the white-striped green wire splits in two, and runs to the back of both the large and small bulbs.

the black wire splits, and runs to the back of the small bulb...and the side terminal on the large bulb.

the 3KGT harness i have here has:

-4 wires at the connector: black, yellow, green, green w/ white stripe.

in order from the connector we'll call these three sockets 1,2&3.

-socket 1 has green stripe, yellow (center) and black (side)
-socket 2 has green stripe, green (center) and black (side)
-socket 3 has green stripe, green (center) and black (side)

hope this helps. if you count 4 wires at the connector--instead of three--then it sounds like someone jury-rigged it to work. you may be better off buying a new harness; unless you're handy with solder, electronics, etc.

i just provided you with the wiring setup you need for the bulbs.

hope this helps!

-thadd.
