Black Beast Rebuild 94%
|
This is on a '92 TT.
When I got the car, brake lights did not work.. signals did. Brought it into dealership and they said my car was wired for 3-bulbs and I only have 2??? I know one is a dual-filament and I think the dealership was confused. At the time I was in a rush so they raped me and installed a relay in back to make things work. Signals & brakes function but when you have both on.. the signals blink twice as fast and I'm sick of it. Also, now the hazards do not turn the tails on. So they did a real hack job. I need to make it right. I NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR REAR LIGHTS. Signals/brake/running/hazard. I have a test light and experience with auto wiring but need the diagram to see what should be back there. Thanks Last edited by TT4ME : 06-22-2008 at 06:45 PM. |

the (r/t) harness i hold in my hand has 3 wires at the connector. one green w/ white stripe; one black; one green.
the solid green wire runs to the back of the large bulb. the white-striped green wire splits in two, and runs to the back of both the large and small bulbs. the black wire splits, and runs to the back of the small bulb...and the side terminal on the large bulb. the 3KGT harness i have here has: -4 wires at the connector: black, yellow, green, green w/ white stripe. in order from the connector we'll call these three sockets 1,2&3. -socket 1 has green stripe, yellow (center) and black (side) -socket 2 has green stripe, green (center) and black (side) -socket 3 has green stripe, green (center) and black (side) hope this helps. if you count 4 wires at the connector--instead of three--then it sounds like someone jury-rigged it to work. you may be better off buying a new harness; unless you're handy with solder, electronics, etc. i just provided you with the wiring setup you need for the bulbs. hope this helps! -thadd. |
