Update.

Wiring is now finished

Moved battery to rear of car.

Fitted non-active areo rear spolier, this thing weighs next to nothing, and looks better, imo!

All interior is now stripped of everything I can and want to take out, bar heater and A/C rad, which is next on list!

Check how the left hand corner of my boot changed below:

1st pic > Car is stock form

2nd pic > removed ariel, exhaust servo, active areo and areil ECU's and unsused wiring

3rd pic > Battery new location. (still need make a bracket up to hold batt)

Got the Crusie control out too.

Man this thing is heavy! lol

I managaed to re-use the same throttle cable too. Simply just bend it straight and make up to p clips and your away. see pic below

Pic 4 > Crsuie removed and relays for A/C (that biatch is on my list next to come out!)

Pic 5> Original throttle cbale used (bent straight and using home made clips)
The pedal feel is no great, so much better.. The clips work really well and hold the cable in tight. Also took opportunity to re-oil the cable

Pic 6> Engine bay sloooowly starting look better.

I think after I remove A/C (with is next) I will polish the valve cover. Just to pretty it up a bit!

So far eveything is running smoothly. touches wood haha!!

you're much braver than I was. Too scared to start cutting wires away so I ended up with 4-5 bundled bunches of unused connectors.

lol its not too bad really! Just takes a long time to check, double check and triple check you are removing the right wires!

4 bags of unsed wiring so far, weighs quite a bit too.

had a scary moment though, when car wouldnt start! forgot to plug turbo timber back in (wont start without it plugged in!)

do you have any pictures of the bags of wire? maybe if i can see the scope of how much there is to remove, i'll have extra incentive to having a clean wiring job.

edit: did you use a relay to bypass the etacs? did you also remove some wires running to the fusebox as well?

yeah, il take a pic on my next update. Bare in mind i still got ABS and ECS to take out gonna be lot more wirign too.

I didn't try to bypass the etacs in the end. I want to, and still may. But i stil don't know 100% of eveything it does or controls, so would need to find that stuff out. anyone know or where you can get info from?

I didnt remove the wires from the fuse box, a lot of the stuff i took out used a shared fuse and i woulda ponly been removing 3 fuses or so, and to take the fuse box apart and trace wires etc i thought was too much effort to get like couple grams of wire out.

I left in the ECS and ABS. But now ABS light is on (read up prob coz batt been disconnected for a while), so I might just pull the ABS. And might get coilovers now, so ECS be pointless. SO maybe the wiring aint finished just yet lol.

little update>

decided to polish the valve cover as it was annoying me how tacky it looked even in my more or less standard engine bay.

Pic 1 > No more of this

Pic 2 > Paint stripper applied

Pic 3 > how it looked after paint stripping. Thought it would come out A LOT better than this oh well!

pic 4 > after going over with polisher bit on drill for half hour

So far only spent hour and half on this. And that includes taking it out of engine and waiting 20 mins while i had paint stripper on there.

Still got about another half hour of drill polishing and and hour of sanding and wire wool. Then and hour of polishing it with the right paste and you guys will be amazed of how i got it looking in 4-5 hours! lol
