Default Stinky A/C

Hello fellow 3s owners, i have been a member of this site for almost a year, and its been great. ive been able to fix so many problems on my 3s that I would have never been able to figuer out other wise.
But now I have another question, is there an in cabin filter for the air conditioning unit in my first gen 300Gt? The problem is that every time I turn it on I get a really funky smeel the first few seconds its on, but then it goes away. actually the last time I used it , it didnt go away. So is there somthing I can do to fix this or whats up? has anyone else gone trough somthing similar? Again its a 1992 3000GT SL with a full automatic a/c system.

condenser/resavoir (sp). i'm guessing you probably have mildew/mold. happens with age. there's probably a way to add chemical treatment to it; just the same way you would with central air on a house.

I have the same issue. My car was not driven over the winter so I am assuming mold or some other issue causes the funky smell.

Offering of a specific solution would sure be appreciated.

Had a bad smell in mine after I left it a shop for about three months. It ended up being the evaporator, which is located behind the air bag under the dash. We socked it in bleach and reinstalled it. Problem is gone
