Default Ignition button broke that you push to remove the key!!!

Well tonight my ignition button that you push when the key is in the ACC position broke, and now there is no button, i have to use a screwdriver to push whats left of the button in to remove the key (by the way my car is a first gen). So my question is, is there a way to completely remove the ignition button and not have a button at all to remove the key? This would simplify things a bit for those of us with first gens but more importantly, HELP ME OUT AT THIS POINT!!! Any ideas on this subject or should i just drill it out and hope for the best? Ive been looking at it for about an hour and figured id see if anyone has had any experience with this..

I have the same problem luckily i still have the button. I used ca glue on the end of the button shoved it back in the hole and continued to move it until everything was dry. You must keep pushing the button after you apply the ca glue or else it will bond to the walls that the button goes in.

yeah mine broke off on my old stealth i just ended up sticking something in there and glueing it so it couldnt come out, so it was always pushed in. You can remove it by disassembling the lock cylinder and removing that part of the assembly. I would just glue something in there though.

How do you guys manage to break that of all things? But you did inspire me to glue it so it stays in. Most annoying button ever!
