That sucks about your car, but hopefully you can get the one from the other member in Kansas. If you end up with this other car and need some help, I'm in Platteville (UW-Platteville) and wouldn't mind helping when I'm outside school or work.

The damage isn't too bad and if you get that parts car, this is a really easy fix! Just take your time swapping parts. Aligning body panels, especially after an accident, can be a real pain sometimes. The only thing that looks like it's going to be a pain is the part that the fender connects to. That is most likely tweaked and will need to be bent back into place if you ever want the car to look like it did before. You're also going to most likely end up breaking the white and black clips on the sideskirt so be prepared to order those from Mitsubishi (they're not expensive, but they always seem to be a special order item).

Yep, i was taking a look closely at it the other night, and i came to the same conclusion. that part of the body where the fender connects to, and the hood sits on top of is bent down. So... i've never really done that kind of stuff before but i was thinking about using a torch to heat it up a bit and bend it back into place, and weld the cracks?

Anyone know if that would be a good idea or bad idea, or what i should do to get that bent back. i could take some better pictures later, my first post was from my cell phone right after it happened.

Try to post up some photos of the underlying metal before Friday. If it isn't too bad and just bent up, I'll bring some of my sheet metal hammer and dollies back and see if those will be able to get them lined up again.

Yea, I'm not too sure about the torch idea. The metal behind there is pretty thick and covers a fairly large area so I don't know if you'd be able to uniformly heat it all and bend it back into shape the way you're thinking.

Alright, i just took a bunch of pictures from different angles. I cant really take any better pictures without removing the side skirt and fender, etc

Heres one that compares the left side to the right side:

Yikes, that inner fender is really mangled! I'll bring my tools back, but they are more or less for smaller dent repair & general body work. Hopefully it can be worked back into shape well enough to get the other fender to bolt up and align correctly.

Haha... yeah i know. I guess we wont really know for sure until we get all the panels off and whatnot, but i am trying to be optimistic.
