I just wrecked my 3000GT :( - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

So... I just got my '92 3000gt in October, and i had been browsing this forum alot, before purchasing, and i was going to make a big post about how i finally got my car, and i was going to take pictures of it and put it on here and list the work that needed to be done... But i procrastinated..

Well about an hour and a half ago this happened.

It's still drivable... i drove it back home

on the plus side it looks fixable. keep your chin up. someone will help bring her back to life.

I am okay... thanks for asking. I had my seatbelt on, and the airbag deployed.

I was driving on the highway to visit a friend going about 60mph. And while i was driving i was doing the normal stuff, listening to music and whatnot.

There was a guy in front of me in a big brown van that was a ways ahead of me, and i had just been used to seeing him in front of me. I looked away for a moment, at my CD player or outside, and i looked back and he was stopped with his blinker on, waiting to turn.

I was way to close to come to a complete stop, so i slammed on my brakes and turned the sterring wheel to the right to go around the side of him, but i didn't react soon enough or slow down fast enough so i slammed into the back right of his bumper...

I'm still kind of shaken up, and i can smell the airbag still.

The wheel clears the fender when turning both ways, and it drives normal. but the wheel hit the fender a bit from the shocks compressing when entering my driveway.

Sounds like you're ok - that's what is important. It's too bad about the car -- but it looks fixable!! Especially if it is still driveable. You'll have it back on the road in no time at all.

ouch hate to see it... good thing no one got hurt. it doesn't look like too much damage. best of luck getting her fixed up.

Bad news is, my insurance only covers Liability, So i'm going to have to find the money to fix the damage. Probably going to have to get parts from someone parting out their car

fender, yes. bumper/headlight, probabaly. but no 99 conversion...that would be even more $$$, and the hood looks mostly intact.
