Myself and a shitload of local 3Si members have used these guys. Quick turn around (like two days) and best rate and warrenty around. Lifetime warrenty for $150, can't beat that.

wasn't there a place that would test yours for like 20-40 bucks? and if it was bad then they would rebuild it for 150-200? same place?

I have a 1996 3000gt DOHC when I took it to dealer they said I had a recall for a new ECU.. they installed a new one for free.. I dont know if all years were recalled or just my 1996... but hey I got a new ECU on a eight year old car and I havent had any problems with the ECU nad I hadnt had any before the dealer installed it either.. Its worth a shot check with dealer on recalls.. I checked the National highway safety site and I didnt see a recall on the ECU for any yr 3000gt but the dealer must have ... Good luck

if your caps on your ecu leaked its a simple project. The caps are only like 7 bucks to replace and several board members are selling them. Alls you do is remove the bad ones, clean up the leakage, and solder on the new ones, and if you cant do that there are several board members who can. Jeremy C is going to do mine for 55 bucks, 50 for the labor, and 5 for the caps. Shoot him a pm if your caps are bad.

Good info. I did my caps. had the local electronics store guys do it for 20 bucks but I remember a company that rebuilt them and said that there were all kinds of problems that would happen.. and the caps were not the majority (if I remember right) Since I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with mine I am looking for the place where they tested them for a small price before rebuilding.

I think only the 96 was recalled due to some kind of emissions issue.

Lucky... they should recall all the first gens for exploding for no reason. You'd think maybe it would be a fire hazard or something.

The parts are actually under a dollar to replace all the capacitors. With shipping/handling about $6. Need a bit of electronics skill though.
