Good timing for this thread to come along. I just got done installing a some engine bay stuff. Still need to polish everything clean though... I JUST finished. Still more to come, but for now I need to install my Ground Controls and get the new wheels on order.

Along these lines, I just painted my valve cover over the weekend and it came out pretty nice and took only a couple hours. I used aircraft stripper and a nylong detail brush. It completely stripped the old cracking paint off the cover in about 15minutes and one application. It actually looked really nice bare, but I painted it textured black and it almost looks exactly like a stock new valve cover. I was pleased because my paint jobs usually look like crap, either runny or it doesn't stick right. I used el cheapo dollar store textured paint called GripIt. I also bought wrinkle paint, but that didn't look as good on the sample metel piece I sprayed he two on to compare. polished looks good, but too much maintenance for my taste. I might do the plenum polished if I can do it myself. I would show a picture, but I dont have a hosting facility.
