Default AC/Heat: Full blast or nothing.

I have a 92VR4 with digital climate control. The AC blows cold, and the heat pumps out very hot. Only problem is that it only blows when the fan is on max. If I bump it down one notch, it stops blowing all together. Sort of a pain in the ass, because it's either all or none. Any ideas? Thanks,

Chris

Any other ideas? Still having the issue. Don't think it's the DCC computer, seems it may be mechanical. Also, possibly related, the right side of the display does not function (light up). Might pull the unit to inspect it.

There's a 2 relays that controls the fans. There's a high and a low. Your low is probably gone. They are in the engine bay. If that doesn't solve it there is also a connection to your a/c underneath the passenger side dash area that can get fried. I'm not an expert on the subject, just had the exact same thing happen to me. First my window controls went out. Before I bothered to fix it my a/c stopped, only full blast worked. Then that stopped too. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know where these 2 relays are located?

Engine bay. I think it's the small box on the driver's side, but just look on top of the fuse boxes. They are black with blue lettering.

Sounds like the rheostat on the fan. Its what controls the voltage going to the fan to control the speeds. It may be on the fan itself. I am not 100% as Ive never had to replace one on the Stealth.

Sorry to bring up an old thread.. but im currently experiencing similar issues.

1st... the relays in the engine bay are for the radiator fan hi/lo, not the HVAC blower fan.

From my research its the resistor pack in the DCC controller computer that determines fan speed other than high.

My passenger side window controls have gone out as well, making me curious as to which a/c connection you're referring to, so that I may see if it is the culprit of my problems.

I checked all the fuses and relays (yesterday....finally got some time). All the fuses tested fine. I replaced the relays with known good ones. Still doesn't work properly. I think I mentioned it before, but all the lighting on the right side of my display is gone as well. I haven't removed the DCC yet, though. I just found out my clock spring is going so I'll need some downtime soon...might as well pull that too, and see what is looks like. Need to disable my ETACS while I'm at it.

As for the passenger window, the connections for that run into the driver side connection....so you'll just need to pull the driver side panel and (hopefully that's all it is) reconnect it. If that's it, you'll see it as soon as you pull the panel off.

So your heater/ac is doing the exact same thing? Only blows when it's up all the way?

It is the transister fan blower pack, this does nothing but allow the DCC to step down the voltage to the blower. If the blower works only on full then that is typically the problem. There is a hi-speed rely for the blower on its highest setting all other settings go through the transister pack. If you need the diagram to its location I can post it. It is located behind the glove box up and out of the way a bit and goes into the housing, sorta behind the DCC panel but not really.
-John

EDIT: Digital climate uses a Transistor pack, the analog uses a Resistor pack.
