Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 Speed-o HELP!!!

The speedometer on my '91 VR4 died, I tested with a know working cluster and that did not work. After digging a little I noticed that the engine harness plug that goes into the transmission to sense speed was completely shot. The local Mitsu dealer will only sell a new harness for $1000 and there are no junkyards with turbo cars in town. Does anyone know if that plug will cross-reference with any other more commonly available models (its a 3 wire connector)? Thanks in advance!!!

I had the same thing happen to my car. Thankfully I work at a Ford dealership, and a co-worker who does a lot of wiring harnesses had a big box of old wiring harnesses. I dug through there and found one that works perfectly. Not only does it fit perfectly, but its a quick disconnect plug, so its sort of an upgrade Do a search on google for wurth, they supply all of our plugs and stuff.

Im glad its a standard plug, but mine is destroyed to the point where I dont know exactly what it looks like in the first place . Anyone have a pic or link to one (maybe even the numbers off the plug)? Thanks again, road trip to E3 next week will really suck if I cant take my GT.

Default Saga continues...

I learned today that one of two the plugs that goes to the coils (below, the smaller one) is the same as the speed sensor I am looking for. Now the question is did the non-turbo cars use the same plug for the coils?
