My motor mounts are so trashed that I actually won't drive my vr4 unless I have no choice. I've wanted poly's but it seems like like solid motor mounts are more available on the used market. And cheaper.
So, the main thing I worry about with solids is not the rough idle/driveability, but if it has any long term effects on other components in the engine bay. Rubber/poly motor mounts serve the purpose of not only making the car more comfortable to the driver, but isolating engine vibrations from the chassis. Has anybody had anything come loose or break due to running solids for a while?
I've really wanted to take a ride in a 3s with solid mounts to see for myself what it feels like. Is there anybody in the Charlotte <----> Raleigh <----> Sandhills area with a 3s with solids who would be willing to let me check them out?
p.s. if you sell solid motor mounts I don't really want your opinion. nothing personal.

I've been racing with solid mounts for darn near a decade bud. There aren't any downsides other than the vibration and that's not even bad. In fact, my daily driver also has solids. I hardly noticed them.

What kind of problems have you had pop up with your DD after, not necessarily because of, installing the motor mounts, if any?
I have solids in my SOHC. The greatest thing about them is the power actually making it to the pavement better. They also give a very nice rumble when accelerating.
The *only* downside to them is the fact that some bolts and screws in my car are rattling a little bit now. This is primarily due to the vibrations, but the car being 12 years old probably doesn't help either.
I'd DEFINITELY suggest picking up a set of Maximal solids. Installation wasn't horrible, and the gains were immediately noticeable. Having people sit in my car and then find out it is a single cam V6 is hilarious. One of the best mods I have done for my car.
What "nuts and bolts" come loose? Can they be re-tightened?
My dad and his butthole camaro drag racing friend insist that it will mess the frame up and that it would be pointless to put them on because its a small v6

I'm pretty sure if a motor has enough torque to mess up a frame, its going to do it regardless.

Here's what you do. You buy the mounts regardless. Bring your car to my house and I will install them.
Drive around with them for 6 months, then go tell your dad and his idiot friends "Oh yeah, by the way, I have been running solid mounts for 6 months now and haven't broken anything."

None. Not a single issue.
The race car is over 600 horse too man. You won't have any problems at all. Watch the dyno vid in my sig to see how the motor just doesn't move anymore. In fact, by having solids, you remove the ability for the motor to twist and put additional stress on the t-case by taking it out of alignment.
