Default So loud it hurts...

So I re-wired my entire amp/sub/speaker setup last night, what an adventure that was lol. I added a new amp for my sub, and switched the amp that was running my sub to run my front speakers. The new sub amp is the Polk/Momo C500.1 Carbon Series Mono Block, and ho-ly-sh-it did it make a difference! My bass hits so damn loud now that my head actually hurt from tuning it (with the doors open and windows down nonetheless). Thankfully, it came with a remote adjustment knob, so I can back it down and turn it up as I please. So now, I have the Boss Special Edition 2Ch running my fronts, the Polk/Momo running my Kicker CVR12, Pioneer 3 ways in the doors and rears, and a Volfenhag 2 Farad Cap helping push the amps. I ran all new ground points, re-ran my RCA's for zero chance of interference/noise, and removed the psgr seat and finally ran every single wire under the carpet and under the rear seats. What a damn difference a cleanup/reorganization job made...I wonder what I'll hit at the SPL comps now? hehe

I'm trying to figure out what is up with my new settup. I have a 12 right now hooked up to a 1000 watt amp. I just got two kicker cvr10's in and built a custom box that is right at the recommended sealed box size for each. For some reason they barely hit. I am going to try to rewire the box b/c I think the wiring i wasn't the best for the application. Then I am going to try to just hook one up at a time to the amp bridged (right now each has their own separate channel) and see if the amp just isn't strong enough. If it isn't I may be in the market for another amp.

Yea I def used to big of a wire when trying to wire it b/c I had a hard time actually fitting it in the sub terminals. I just got kind of aggravated b/c I had finally got my 12 working great after I had finally got the 10's in. But I will rewire it tomorrow and if I have to MORE POWER!!!

Did you wire them in series or parallel? It sounds to me like you may have had an Ohm load issue because they may have been wired wrongly either at the subs or at the amp. What kind of amp is it? How many channels and what is it's RMS power rating (not the 1000W max rating). What Ohm load does it run stable? (i.e. - 1, 2, or 4 ohms)

I wired each sub to its own channel wiring it so that there is a 2 ohm load on each channel. The amp is supposedly 400rms x 2 at 2 ohm. I already had the amp for sale and if I can get this one guy who is interested to get it I am selling it anyways but I would like it to play good unless I don't. I am going to rewire it today and see what happens.
