I tried to rent one from Advance Auto but they didn't have any. The Autozone by me closes at some weird hours (I went last night to get it). My friend had a harbor freight one that he let me borrow and once I put the teflon tape on, all was well.

The whining sound is normal. I have all of the plugs out of the engine so there is no compression at all, it's just spinning free and you're hearing the sound of the starter motor. It's that other sound that is odd, like a popping sound.

that engine is making some hot ass techno beats.

Whatever it is it sounds REALLY bad..., maybe something is rubbing like a piston?

Got a guy that had a similar problem and it turned out to be a spun bearing. Said the bearing was so chewed up that the piston on one cylinder would actually rise up further than the others creating higher compression numbers.

Now, that would make sense if the sound were coming from the number 2 cylinder (since it has higher than normal compression numbers), but I'm almost 95% sure the sound is coming from number 6. When I place my hand over the number 6 intake runner, the sound dies down quite a bit. I'm going to retake the video tomorrow if I get some time (and a room mate to crank it over) and show everyone why I think it's coming from number 6.

A timing light will tell you that its #6 for certain.

A timing light would tell me when cylinder 6 reaches TDC, which I guess I could look to see if it lights at the same time as the sound.

Yup. If you hear the sounds when the plug fires and you know its coming from the rear bank, then you can probably assume that #6 is the bad cylinder.
