if ya cant do it yourself or get another member to do it it will cost alot of money

almost all shops will want to take the heads off
so your already looking at a complete 60k service+ headgaskets
and that is $$$$$$$$$

you might get away without the 60k service if it was recently done

call your local 3s shop and see what they charge
they will most likley be cheapest option

or live with it

Bob you should contact Scott (darksurfr) or Matt (1viciousvr4) one of them might be able to do it for you for really cheap.

I got quotes up to $1800, its a pain because if they drop a valve then they have to remove the heads. i just went ahead and got my engine rebuilt. (VSS comes with a rebuild of course). it cost around $2200 to get it built. if it was me i wud say screw the VSS job and go for a rebuild, its well worth your money. just a thought. i think if you called around then u cud get it down for about $1200.

yea i heard about resurfacing the heads and all, but is that really necessary? would it save a lot of money if i just had them replaced? i honestly know nothing about this. i am a very easy driver who never really revs past 3 or 4 thousand rpms. i just want teh smoke to stop for as little money as possible.

Getting the heads decked is pretty cheap but you can always just check to make sure the heads are flat with a flat edge and a feeler gauge. I've done plenty of headgaskets without resurfacing the head. I've always used non metal headgaskets as the metal ones will leak if its not perfectly flat.

if you could take the heads off yourself, you could have a machine shop do the seals pretty cheap. if thats all you want them to do. but obviously a full head rebuild will be more.
