another long day

my friend picks me up to go and ride around and look at sport bikes ,we grab a bite to eat and go back to his house after a few hours or riding around. we chill out on the front step and i see my brother go by in his friends car, i ran to the back of my friends house to hide (told my bro i was working on his car) his friend drives back around the block,(im hiding) about a half hour goes by and were in the back yard and my brother rolls up in my car. im like wtf he can hardly drive stick and always grinds gears or has the car jerking. i end up drving to pepboys to work on his car (01 chevy impala). he took it to a shop which said he needs a crank postion sensor. we dont have the tools a pep boys so i drive about 15 minutes up the street to get the tools and drive back. finish the job and the car still runs like crap. my brother tells me to follow him to his first aid squad building incase his car dies (he was on duty). we get there and i leave. on the way home i rear end someone (cute chick ) but its a five car collision my car has no damage but the chicks car needs a new rear bumper trunk and tail light . what happened was i locked up my brakes then hit her. now i have a ticket for careless driving, but i wasnt speeding or driving careless , the car ahead of me had no brake lights on(chick said she was in neutral) so it looked like they were moving . by time i realized no one was going anywhere it was too late. if i just pay the ticket (about $150 ) i get two points, or i could go to court and spend 400 getting no points. i dont know what to do, could i go to driving school to get the two points removed ? just needed to vent thanks o and i saw a red second gen 3kgt one of their fog lights was out

Wow that's a pretty bad day. I say go to court. Its worth not getting the points. Only thing that sucks is the surcharge they have for when they plea you down to improper operation of a motor vehicle. I think its 100 a year for the next few years. The other thing that sucks is if/when your insurance company takes care of the cute chicks car your payments will probably go up.

i would take the points and go to a driving school for the 2 points. yea it was careless because you rear ended her. so those points you deserve, however, its like 60 bucks to go to a 6 hour session and drop those 2 points. i did it and it was actually pretty fun hearing about how 99.9% of what i do pisses off drivers such as driving with your fog lights on?

If you pay the fine and take the points, it'll be less up front costs and depending on your insurance provider, they may have a 2-point leniency before they jack up your rates, but they probably will anyway since you were at fault in the accident.

If you go to court and plead not guilty to the prosecutor, you may get a plea bargain for an unsafe driving charge, which will end up costing $400-$425, depending on court costs. You'll get no points, but you have to pay that ridiculous fine.

I think, either way, your insurance rates will still go up.
