O.k. maybe I'm looking at this in to simple a way, but with bigger injectors comes the need to control them and then to regulate timing. Right now we either use piggy backs to trick the ecu or just replace with a stand alone such as the AEM. On its own the ECU controls 360cc injectors fuel maps and associated timing maps. It has the fuel and timing maps specific to those injectors. Why then can the ECU in our car not be modified in way that it would have a complete fuel map for the more popular fuel injector upgrades ie 550cc and 720cc injectros specific to a brand? Is it a cost issue or is it absolutely impossible to change the programing on the ECU?

It is absolutely impossible to reprogram the integrated roms inside the ECU. However, there is a daughterboard (techtom?) that can be installed tricking the processor to read from another set of roms. I gave some thought about doing this, but the emanage ultimate solution works good enough as it can modify the fuel injectors AFTER the ecu (no timing induced problems), and costs less.

Then what was it with the G-Force and Jet ECU upgrades for our cars back in the day? The Emanage will do what you need with timing and fuel I agree. Now adding a duaghterboard to the ECU, is there anyone currently doing this in the 3S scene?

G-Force uses techtom board.
I dont think the jet does.

Does the G-Force add fuel and timing tables for larger than stock injectors though? As for Jet I know they used to market an ECU back in the 90's, but I saw one and it had no duaghterboard installed on it, just a Jet sticker on the outside. I'm not sure if they are still marketing an ECU for our cars.

A different jap. company used to desolder the processor (and integrated rom) out and soldered in another processor with their software loaded on it. I don't know if Jet did anything similar to that, or did they just rip people off claiming they did something and gave them a manual boost controller to go along with it. LOL.
