Default Welcome to ECU Tuning!

This forum was created to help organize information about the various tuning devices that are in use on the 3/S platform. The intent is to try to keep the information up-to-date to help each other get the most from their cars.

This section will be a bit more lax than the Advanced Tech forum... A topic need not be particularly advanced to exist here, however if the topic does not have potential to lead to knowledge gain for all it will be deleted. Please keep topics on-track and provide as much useful information as possible.

As this section resides in Advanced Tech, I will have the primary moderation duties for this area. If you see a thread or post which is clearly off-topic for this section, you may report it and I will decide if the thread or post should be removed.

Members who have created "Ultimate Threads" for particular tuning devices are welcome to either move their threads here, or preferably summarize the technical information from those threads into new threads here. I am hoping this will generate authoritative self-help threads for each tuning device which won't require people to read through many pages of posts to get to the important information.

Thanks, and enjoy!

I wonder if it would be possible to (eventually or from startup) sectionalize the AEM stuff into a few separate areas, because the AEM Ultimate Thread is SOOO long and has such low signal to noise ratio that it is not...exactly good.
Like "Initial Install/Get It Running", "Fuel/Ignition/Performance Tuning Info", "Accessories/Add-Ons/Interfacing Info", "Calibration Maps". I mean, the AEM website has stuff for us there so hate to duplicate it all over again but this site is more visited by us all/more often so is a good idea.

That's what I had initially recommended. I'll bring it back up with the mods and see if Alan can set it up that way.

The word is: drive the tuning traffic in here and sub-forums will be created based upon the hot topics and I will move the appropriate threads as appropriate.

Can we put threads about how to optimize different loggers on here?
For example, some of us just bought Chris' logging cable and software, and we are talking about different emulators so we can run the Palm software on a laptop.
I'm going to be comparing the software running on the emulator vs. running on a real Palm vs. running the TMO program that a lot people use. Could that go here?

I think that would be appropriate... Let's just keep the discussion centered around optimization of logging or key issues with various loggers. (ie: not "Logging 101" kind of stuff).

Agreed. And now, 8 months later, still no AEM forum. It gets really difficult to find useful information even using search.
