ya im thinking your right with the injectors. i bought them from a felow board member who said that they were flow tested, and i just took his word for it. I gotta stop trusting people. anyways i didnt want to have to pull them again, but i will be doing so today and replacing them with the stockies, hopefully everything returns to normal.
ill update later thanks, eric

Put stock injectors back in and still the same, pulled the pump out again and although it looked still looked snug, took it out and remounted it with even more caution, and it did the trick. i don't know what was wrong with it but it was definately not pumping enough fuel to the rails before.
Threw my 450cc's back in and now o2's are beautiful at/around -20% correction. As far as the injectors, i got all brand new o-rings and replaced all insulater/spacer things that needed it and yet it still smells a little bit like gas now and again. the front 3 are definately not leaking, and allthough i cant see the back 3 well, i do not believe they are either. I did leave a little bit of fuel puddled on the outside of the lower manifold that had leaked out of the rails when injectors were pulled, assuming it would evaporate/burn off quickly, maybe this is the cause? |

so it started happening again. Not as severely though, It is fine when in lo-throttle, and in vacuum, but as soon as boost gauge gets close to boost it leans out and wants to die. pulled the pump AGAIN, looked fine but adjusted it a little more, changed the filter, checked all the electric connections. still doing it. im really getting fucking sick of this thing, i have to fix it today for work tomoro, after i have my wisdom teeth pulled in an hour. should be fun.

im ready to push this fucking thing into the lake and forget about it all together.
I have swapped out both sets of injectors with no help so right now i have my 450cc's in there. i tapped the maniold with new threads and it is tight and did the vac reduction.(not that it matters it ran fine with stripped bolts and vac leaks for a year) i put a brand new fuel filter in it and checked the lines all the way from the pump to the rail. ive taken the pump out and watched it run plenty of pressure in a bucket of gas. ive swapped the stock pump back in with no results. my car is now throwing a CEL, and with +50% correction will peg lean constantly, any rpm, and throttle position. and it barely runs. WTF is wrong with this piece of shit, someone please help point me in a new direction before i give up on it and just hold it at rev-limiter until it blows up. |

NG09: The Comeback Tour

WHen I upgraded to my 450's I had the same issue. We found 2 problems with my FP install.
1) The cap that sits on top of the O-ring was missing from the kit and not installed. 2) the pump was loose in the stock housing. THese two problems allowed this to happen. THe water you see all over was being pushed out between the pump nexk and the stock housing. To solve it we took the cap from the stock pump and put it on the new pump above the O-Ring and we added to washers cut into a C shape to the bottom of the pump. I have not had any issues since then.

i did the same trick with my pump in a bucket and it was fine.
we pulled the return line off the stock fpr and tried turning it over and it was bone dry, then pulled the loop off and there was a bunch of pressure so i thought it was the fpr. just finished installing the 3sxperformance/fuellab fpr kit and still nothing, even after turning the car over for a long time and hearing my pump running my fuel pressure gauge reads 0. |

ok today i had a development. I realized that the pump was blowing the top crown piece off of it as it gained pressure and allowed it to blow back, so i got it strapped on there with a couple zip ties so it would stay together and is now holding stock pressure at the rails.
the thing is, it still is running bad. now since i am now supplying good pressure to the rails i figured maybe my 450's were an issue so i pulled them and put my stock injectors back in set the afc to 0% cor. and it is still too lean.(doesnt help to turn afc up to any level either, but if i go any lower car shuts off) it is missing like crazy and backfiring through the intake leading me to think my timing is way off, but i dont have a scanner till monday. when ill check timing, injector pulse, and all the codes its been throwing. also will be running a compression check later in the week. im very confused/frustrated with the whole thing. and my daily driver jeep took a hit rendering it undrivable too, so ive been bumming rides and borrowing cars for a month, i need to get this thing running. |

pulled the front three plugs, could see that plenty of fuel is getting in the cylinders, and tested spakr on those three and they were all good (didnt do the back but they are brand new plugs and i doubt only half of a coil pack would be bad.
compression test didnt look great at 120, 135 and 140 (got dark and didnt get to the back) but with these numbers it should still run better than it is. im thinking my ecu which was leaking severely and then rebuilt may still/again be messed up??? |
