quick question. apparantly i may need to ditch the stock maf soon. from what i've heard, the map sensor option would be the easiest way to convert to being maf-less. what i'm worried about though is the "drifting tune". ie, a/f and tunes that will change and become potentially unsafe when weather changes, ie temperature change. is this an issue with the map sensor? has anyone experienced this? i'm looking for the easiest way to go maf-less and keep good driveability and reliability, both at wot and partial throttle, without the need to get retuned every so often. thanks.

You can read some of my recent posts regarding weather issues I've had. I'm in the process of retuning to handle cold weather.

ok, i haven't really even gotten a look at the software yet (car is at ips being tuned), so some of the lingo thrown around here is somewhat of a second language to me. but 2root4u, you're using the map setup on the emanage? and i saw mention of tuning it for the cold weather, and it will be fine for when it warms up? as in safe, no knock and not lean? if so, that's perfect. it's getting tuned in ohio right now (not gonna get much colder than that for my purposes) and i'm in florida, and the car will be coming down here after it's done up there.

That's a mixture of MOSTLY noise and lift knock. NOT REAL KNOCK

IF you put the data in Excel to see the acurate timing log, you will notice that your timing doesn't drop when you start getting those knock values. Also, you will notice that most of those knock values are comming while you are off throttle (your IDC's and boost pressure give that away since your throttle position values weren't on the log). Plus, the highest value you got was like a few spikes at 12 or so. very isolated spikes. The knock sensor is VERY sensitive, and the EMU will pick up EVERYTHING it puts out. The ECU doesn't care as much. Those shakes are just typical engine noise. Even when you were at 85 mph, you got like ZERO knock at 7 or so psi. There are some very abnormal low spots in your ignition timing however (4000 +/- 500 rpm at 6 psi +). your timing TANKS at those spots. Are you taking timing out there???? IF you are, you might want to put it back so you don't burn valves. Intake temp seems to be nice and cool. I am assuming you are using a stock mas. 65 degree temps sound about right? Good logs. Just put the timing back in it and run more boost .

Hello everyone. I just finished building my car and I have to say, I am very intimidated and overwhelmed by this tuning aspect. There seems to be soooo many variables, methods and personal preferances. Also, I have no experiance. This is the first car I have ever modded.

Here is what I did.

13ts
Evo 560's
EMU - wired to stage 3 (Guess that was dumb?)
Denso Supra Fuel Pump Hotwired
AEM FPR set at about 44psi
Earls fitings and hose w/ ek2 manf. fuel loop
Removed mas and intake pipes, have a filter on each turbo inlet
Greddy MAP sensor
GM IAT
AEM wideband (guage kind)
ips 4" exhaust

Basically, I thought I could just use blackstealths speed density tune to get the car able to be moved around a little so I could have a professional get it tuned up on a dyno and running good.

The car will start and idle pretty low. Kinda lopey. Sounds like a v8 with the 4" downpipe dumping straight out. But it will only run for a few seconds before it floods. Then I pulled the power from the fuel pump to burn out the gas in the cylinders and it will idle for like 3 minutes if the fuel pump is not plugged in.

I have my MAP sensor in option one and my wideband in option 2

I dont know what else I can tell you detail wise.

Here is what I was going to ask. I was wondering if someone would be nice enough to work with me kinda one on one to get this thing working.

Mybe some of you here are familiar enough to make a generic tune that will get me running around a little on the rich side.

I will glady pay you for your help. Im just a god damned newb! I feel retarded. haha Ill snap some pics of the car tho, at least its is installed nice.

Swap option 1 and 2 around and maybe my map will work for you. You need to confirm this as mine is backwards compared to yours.

Also my map is made for stage 2.5 wiring, not stage 3 so you'll definitely have to make some adjustments.
