i have a few questions. i have both emanage ultimate and blue brand new. im not sure what to use. what is the o2 feedback that ultimate has? does this send a signal to the ecu so it wont change the tune? i have a 01 beetle im trying to get the ecu to quit changing my tune. and need cel light off for emissions.
also have my 92 tt also. is it really that much better than the blue. i think i like the more options but really dont know all the ins and outs of it at all. any help will be greatly appriceated. |

Quick question for some of you guys - has anybody had any luck lowering spool times slightly by raising the timing at low RPM? I was thinking about adding 3-4 degrees of timing until about 3,500 RPM (where I would start evening it out).

** BEWARE of version 2.12**
I was running version 2.00 without any issues that I am aware of (my tuning skills are beginner if not non-existent). I download 2.12 only to have the car idle with an AFR of 19.5 and nothing I did to the emanage would work. Only fix I found was to download 1.09 and do a complete install on my laptop, then update the main unit with GSC02.p file (IIRC) and that took me back to 1.09. Car is running well again. So moral of the story is, DO NOT INSTALL version 2.12. Tony

I have duTTch's car running on 2.12 flawlessly, car idles like stock, drives like stock, and overall is a very smooth car. Even for being on speed density, you honestly couldn't tell if I didn't tell you it was mafless.

Man, well I guess I could do that, but I am not 100% convinced on 2.12 then. I was pretty pissed off for about 10 minutes while i cursed at my laptop trying to figure out where I had wrong until i finally got 1.09 installed.
I need to find someone who really knows what they are doing with this thing and teach me how to use it well. No one in my area will even try touching the ultimate, much less on a 3000GT so I am stuck trying to learn on my own with nothing and noone to use as a reference. This has had me debating on going AEM, but I feel like I would just be losing out since I have not given the ultimate a fair try if I really dont know what I am doing. Tony |

Using a VE Map for a close to stock engine, I have gotten these CFM #s. Then by taking the CFM #s, and some other basic math, I have gotten these airflow hz signals.
Basically if you use this map, you would use almost all I/J Corrections, with minor changes to the Airflow Output map to adjust idle fueling. Watch the EMU datalogger, and slowly up the boost from WG, until you get the Input IDC's to 90%, at which point, enable boost cut map, and clamp the signal at those levels so you don't exceede 90% IDC's. I'd also recomend enabling the AF Target Map, w/ some decent #s, and unplugging the NB02's during tuning. Also during itnitial setup, and finding the clamp signals, id retard timing by atleast 5 deg so you don't knock. Not responsible for anything of course. ![]() |

Hi Gray Haze,
i checked my logs with PLX dash and the link of jeff lucius http://www.stealth316.com/2-mas_liter-per-hz.htm as at RPM and boost i have the maf frequency, i calculate Hz*0.2481 in order to have CFM. i checked your CFM map and my calculations in low boost because my logg is not exceeding 14.5 PSI i have 10% error when vaccum and low RPM and 4% to 8% error during boost ( 0 to 14.5PSI ) i think it is correct if i consider the scale we use ( -14.5 to 29PSI for you, -14.5 to 14.5PSI for me ) it is not really accurate because of that, because of the formula we use to convert Hz to CFM is not the same, etc but we are on the same way. thank's for the MAP. @+ fred

Im starting to wonder if E-Manage does have problems with maps not being applied to the car. I remember when first trying to set up mine it didnt seem to change how the car would run no matter how much I changed it. The car pulls allright and drives fine for the most part but it definitely makes me wonder...
