I had the same experience, and never found a solution. I had to pick either good signal or good launch control.

Problem is, without a good rpm signal, the rpm jumps around. And since RPM was one of the parameters on my fuel map, then fuel injection control jumped around too... not good.

Did you actually launch using launch control? I set mine to 4500 rpm, floored it, held at about 4800 rpm and a few pounds of boost, then slipped the clutch a bit to baby it out of the hole, leaving my AWD 'calling card' on the pavement for quite a distance before getting traction. It was awesome.

I had to sell my car before finding a solution. I hope Greddy (or someone) figures out a way to have both clean rpm signals and the launch control.

Yes I did try a couple of launches. Took some time and mental work to be able to hold the pedal at the floor first Also did slip the clutch bit too much, intentionally. Don't want to brake anything while getting to know the system. Here's one, launch set at 5000, seems like EMU can't quite keep it, closer to 6000 rpm, and after lifting the clutch RPM's drops just below 5000 rpm:

I'm curious about the smoke. Was it kinda white or black? and what could have been the cause?

Whitish what I saw from the rear view mirror, and I think the ignition cut with the RPM-signal just is too rough (sounds like a rump-rump-rump, instead of the rapid ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta I get with the crank angle signal), fuel is dumbed so much that it's coming through the exhaust. And I guess that's the reason the car even died after few secs of lauch control with RPM-signal.

So you think its cutting spark therefor flooding with too much fuel causing the white smoke.
so if you use the crank angle does it still cut spark or now cut fuel injectors?

I really don't know. It's very obvious that when using rpm-signal for rpm detection, the launch control ignition cut will flood the engine badly. It just chokes. How it exactly executes the ignition cut, I don't know.

To me it seems that when using the crank angle signal, it cuts the ignition differently, perhaps the crank angle signal itself, when fuel is cut by the ecu automatically as well (if you try to crank the engine crank sensor detached, ecu automatically cuts the fuel delivery, that's the easiest way to relieve fuel pressure if you need to).

Can the Adj. feature of the IGN Cut Setting be used and setup Map2 for a constant fuel in all the RPM band? So even if the logged RPM jumps arround the fuel will be constant for the "real" RPM (launch control RPM).

Thanks! Did it today and the switch works ok.

All you need to do is hook up that 1 wire and you are set.

You dont' really need those if you use an external switch. they power the remote switching system, so that is why they are there.
Did you try the shift-up, did it work ok?

I just tried but something's wrong. The switch is ok, in the datalogger I can toggle on/off by pressing the clutch. And if standing still and pressing the clutch, I can floor it and it stays at the rpm I have set in the IGN page. In the IGN page "switch select" I have selected "Switch" (other options switch1 and switch2).

However, went to track and the car bogs badly when going wot and/or shifting up. And that switch is the only change I did.

The manual says for shift-up the switch must be connected to option 1 or option 2 ports, or it will not work. Or is that just old info?

It could be, that my plugs are just going down after testing things...
