Just wanted to say thanks you guys for helping me out.

I finally got a tune i'm fairly happy with... can definately use some fine tuning but it pulls pretty strong and clean.

My plugs were fouled out BADLY so my initial attemps must have slowly fouled them out, causing me lots of grief before when i was on here trying to get a tune going.

I ended up having I/J correction from 360 to 655 with 0's for pulse widths. Then above 600hz airflow i richen up ~30% on the I/J map and lean it out 30% on the airflow map.

It sounds strange but my idle and cruise are PERFECT... and everythign feels pretty clean.

I still have CEL for ignition harness? or whatever it is that the adapter fixes i'm guessing. Maybe i'll attempt to rig my own adapter thanks to blackstealth. Is there any harm in driving around with this CEL? It doesn't seem to affect anything.

No harm in having the CEL. Personally I wouldn't want a CEL on all the time, as your car can no longer warn you should a different CEL code appear.

It appears our stock ECU is somewhat sophisticated in self-diagnosing our fuel injectors. You can't fool it using resistors alone. The real fuel injectors impedance must be simulated, so that means using coils (22mH) too. Resistors will be easy to find, but the coils will be harder to find. Good luck, and please post your findings should you located some coils.

Thanks I"ll do that... I have a bunch of friends getting master's degrees at GA Tech for Electrical Engineering and Comp Engineering... I"m hoping they can hook me up hehe.

When I installed my adapter, it changed my AFR pretty dramatically, so keep that in mind.

And I agree with Blackstealth about the CEL. If it is on all the time, you can't see when other conditions would turn it on.

Can't you clear that particular CEL with a palm logger?

Anywhoo, my question: Do you guys think that the e-manage ultimate is a good tool for somebody new to tuning? I've done a lot of reading, and am extremely interested in learning more about the subject. I was drawn to the ultimate because it seems like I can take small steps. I plan to use the AFR goal map with my wideband. It sounds like it's quite simple, but I could be wrong.

The only product I would consider selling my e-manage for is the MAFT pro, but it seems that the e-manage can take me farther in the end.

That CEL isn't stored, so it goes away as soon as you turn off the car. It comes back only after the car runs again for awhile.

If you're already used to using the blue emanage, then moving to the ultimate will be easy. I just copied my previous blue emanage tune onto the ultimate and my car ran great. The next day I switched from TPS loading to Boost loading for a more accurate way of tuning. Deciding on which cell needs tuning becomes easier than before as you just look at Boost and RPMS.

After your car is running great with Boost loading, capture a bunch of datalogs. My little program will examine all datalogs, and assist you in creating a speed density map. At this point, you can still remain at stage 1 wiring if you like. To take advantage of some of the more advance features in ultimate, you may have to upgrade to stage 2 or stage 3 wiring.

p.s. - I live close to Detroit, Michigan not that far from Troy so I can give you help should you need it.

Also if anyone is in the market for the ultimate emanage harness I have a spare one available. $70 shipped.

Maybe I could come up there with a case of beer, and get the emanage running. It'll be 2 weeks until my girlfreind visits, and brings my emanage.

VR4neophyte: Thanks for the english translation! I forwarded this info to Mohd at mohdparts.com . Also, anyone who's looking to get the adaptors, Mohd has two in stock. It took him many months to get these, and if you hesitate, you might have to wait a long time before he gets these again.

Scott@Supercar: Send me a private message when you get yours in.
