The only advantage I can see by installing the temp sensor in the Y-pipe is that you can compensate for intercooler heatsoak. Ideally you'd want your ECU to pull some timing when this event occurs to prevent knocking. Someone should investigate wether or not our ECU does infact work like this.

As for the knock question,

No fancy alogorithm is required. Here's a hypothetical greddy log:

raw knock value, rpm
0.1, 800 ; no knock
0.1, 900 ; no knock
0.1, 1000 ; no knock
1.0, 1100 ; knock (subtract difference to show magnitude of knock)
1.0, 1200 ; knock

Any raw knock value reported higher than the yellow line is considered as knock. The higher up it is from the yellow line, the greater magnitude of knock.

Writing a program to do this is no problem at all. Making it fancy, and GUI takes more time.

sounds pretty easy then... I can always use ComponentStudio for GUI requirements. If someone wants to send me some sample logs, I'll take a crack at it... otherwise, It'd have to wait a couple of weeks until I get my own. BlackStealth, does it automatically save the logs, or is that a manual process?

You have to save the datalog manually. You have a choice of saving it as either a CSV (or something of that nature which is very easy to work with), and greddy's own binary format. My car is off the road for this winter, so I won't have any datalogs to provide.

Hey guys.
I got Emanage Ultimate in mail a week ago and I already went to the shop that will be installing and tuning it (AMS that has 825hp EVO). I want to run speed density but so far I only have emanage itself and main harness. They quoted me 190 for both pressure sensor and harness for it. Is there any place to get it cheaper?
Greg
What else is needed?
Wish me luck with my car finally :P

The pressure sensor and harness are offered cheaper by www.mohdparts.com every day. Is your shop including an installation charge?

You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server.

Apache/1.3.34 Server at www.mohdparts.com Port 80

No, the installation will be on top of it. I guess its not a five minutes installation after I seen the whole harness...

I never let performance shops install my electronics as they usually overcharge their customers. Honestly its really not that hard to install.

Try this one... http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/index.html

Just $128 for both the sensor and harness.

I could get some logs, although I can only save them as either a text file or greddy's data log file.

that'd work... save as text and send them my way (efamilia@gmail.com)

I just got an emanage blue... anyone know if knock logging is the same on the blue?
