Default Twin Map Sensors, Power FC V's electric everything

let me paint a scenario here...

Say you wanted to have equal length intake lines, preferably as short as possible, so you went with some huge arsed PWR Water intercoolers, but instead of having the second turbo pushing air right the way around the whole (yes I know exageration) engine to fit into the second intake you changed the setup so your basically stock intake manifold had Dual entry, with Dual throttle bodies and Dual MAP's (couse maps rule ok) We kosher thus far?

why? I like being different, even if it means being a pain in the arse and something no-one else on this earth would bother with.

so, I've looked around and the Power FC unit has the ability to do this, so all I need to do is adopt the other sensors...I assume, here is where I ask a few of the experts some fun questions.

if I want to keep everything working on the car (stuff such as cruise, elec sus, active exhaust...the stuff that the car auto enables when it senses certain conditions have been met) will I need to keep the stock ecu and just feed it faked (or however you wanna call it) from after the Power FC has delt with it...?

I don't suppose anyone would know how much of the stock ECU's pin outs affect operation of these various systems?

happy to answer all questions on this one...some interesting input is what I'm after .

would love to go with the fancy formula 1 bred rotating barrel throttle bodys..but this is off topic.

why would you need dual "maps", did you mean dual MAFs? Dual map sensors wouldn't make much sense, since the pressure will be equalized in the system.

the problem is the system may not be equalised, with slightly different piping and dual throttle bodies god only knows what may go on (and I don't plan on 6 x widebands to find out if any of the cylinders are at any point going rich/lean)..

FWIW the Apexi FC appears to be discontinued due to Apexi being in some sort of financial trouble, apparently the offical term for running this sort of setup is De jetro.

Guess it maybe time for that Motec the awesome F1 throttle bodies:

God I'd love a set of them baby's they just LOOK sexy

If both throttle bodies feed into a common plenum design, only 1 map sensor is required as long as it feeds off the plenum.

Dual feed intake manifold is a nice idea. But I reckon you would't save much piping length in total. Given the fact that you'd loose the air box for individual filters and scrap the cruise control stuff because it wouldn't work with twin throttle bodies you'd actually create some space
You'd need only 1 MAP sensor though.

If you want to be different no matter what how's this for an idea:
loose the airbox and intake splitter. Loose the stock SMIC's and put cold air intake pipes to the turbos in their place. Move the battery to the rear and loose the windshield washer bottle. Now what you get is a huge amount of free space on the throttle body side.
You could now use this space to substitute the Y-pipe with a big 2-in-1 horizontally mounted IC with a huge matching asymetric scoop in the hood.

I'm pretty sure thats a horrible idea but it's definately different

haha, forgot I posted this thread..saw the title and went "WOW someone's doing that!....that was something I wanted to ages ago"

given up on bothering to do much modding to the GTO...no matter what you do it's still at 1.7T car... (and lightening it makes it unpleasant to be in)
