Although I am far from the tuning stage of my build, I plan on learning how to do it. I will most likely NOT tune my own car at first, but I sure would like to learn. My main question is, besides teaching yourself, where do you get the proper training to tune cars professionally? I have searched and found that AEM does offer classes, however, only for shop techs. Im currently in school and am in the process of finding a shop that specializes in the field that I am interested in. I want to learn everything from reading graphs and knowing what to look for, also how to read fuel maps/graphs (sorry if Im not too good with the terminology)
I know I will be good at it, Im quick at learning and sticks pretty well when it comes to automotive info. I can be just as good as any male, only reason I say that is because I have been turned down because of gender in the past. I have come so far and, though tuning is the farthest in my course , I would really appreciate learning now. If anyone knows, I really appreciate all info I can get . Thanks .
EFI 101 and EFI advanced are great classes but focused more on speed density
Calibrated Success is another great class that focuses more on MASS/MAF systems.
I agree there are a few good books out there that can explain some good theory.
