Question plug in datalogger, speedo dies

Guessing there is just a short somewhere, but has anyone had a problem when they connect their datalogger, the ecu no longer reads speed and speedo drops to zero (sometimes jumps around as it gets a blip of speed signal) and AA wing freaks out (keeps going up and down)?

But with logger disconnected, everything works fine.

doesnt really make sense... im pretty sure you dont have an electric speedo... i know my 92 doesnt. So it must be the wire inside the cab going to the tach? idk really just throwing some shit out, maybe it will help.

what kind of datalogger?

The speedo wiring is in the same plug as the datalogger wiring, one pin over.
There may be a wiring error in the logger wiring.

I use a palm peg-n710c with mmcd 1.6n

The logger had worked just fine for many months, then occationally it would do this, and now it does it much more frequently. I already suspect it may be a fault in the logger wire, but it doesn't always cause speedo to die. I haven't be able to make any real correlation to why it dies yet. Only that the speedo does usually die when the logger is connected to the 3 DLC pins, doesn't matter if palm is connected or not.

Cable was in vehicle from previous owner, looks home-made. Has serial port on one end, and 3 wires coming out of the other. One runs to top left of port. One runs to bottom right, and one runs 2 pins above that on right side. Like I said, it worked fine for a long time, then it just started acting weird, and it doesn't do it all the time, just most of the time I try and use it.

the speedometer signal is the pin between the 2 on the right side. check to make sure nothings touching it...

Finally got out to check this out some, i checked and made sure nothing was hitting the speedo pin and nothing was, but to be sure I cut the speedo wire a couple inches behind the DLC connector and i'm still having problems..

I think tomarrow i'm gunna try removing datalog cable and put car into diag mode by connecting pin 10 and 12 together to see if I can isolate the problem to either the cable or car's wiring...

Just connecting pins 10 and 12 together seemed to produce the same problem, I have since disconnected the Active Suspension Computer in the truck and it seems to have stopped whatever was shorting out... This would seem very strange thou as the speedometer would never die w/o the dataloogger pluged in.
