ok. i leaned out the mainscale quite a bit and the car is running all gravy (well, except for the part about not being tuned)

it still doesnt really like to idle all that much, my O2 trims are sittin at about 70 or so now

boost control is still goofy.. it will go ot the target boost, and snap back down to 3.

Hi Guy's

I was with la la at the dyno session and I thought I would expand on his description a little more in case it’s a software bug, just so you guy’s know what was going on.

We had been removing fuel from Turbo Bobs excellent map he posted from a few pages back, as la la’s cars was turning the dyno room black with unburnt fuel at the top end. (There is a valid reason why we had to do this with bobs’ map)

We had been doing this for over an hour and a half just tweaking things slowly and doing some light runs just to get a feel of how the MAFT PRO worked and updated etc…..the update button was working fine for all that time and then just stopped updating even though we had changed a whole pile of info in the trim cells.

After swapping laptops and then resetting the MAFT PRO itself the only way we could get the software to change was to change the cells and then update from the arrow on the tool bar at the top of the screen. This worked fine for the rest of the session, which was abandoned as we found the EVC5 was faulty and had no fine adjustment.
You could set it and get say 6psi, then move it a tiny amount and it would then give 18 psi and you could get nothing in between, no matter how minutely we moved the set knob.

Any idea’s?

For anybody who is following this thread with any doubts about this piece of kit, it really is a beautifully made and works very well.
Set up is easy once you take the time to understand what it does and how it does it.

The guy that helped us to tune it all today was hired by one of the Motorcycle MotoGP teams to sort out the fuel injection system they had installed on their bikes last season and is a total boffin.

He was well impressed with the MAFT PRO and is very interested in seeing how far we can take the system with la la’s car.
For this guy to take interest in some thing like this with the level that he works at is a credit to Turbo Bob’s ingenuity.

Roll on trimming control that’s all I can say

Cheers Rob

I have to agree with Rob(GSXR KID) the whole system is totally awesome, my car has been a total piece of crap since I bought it, I have never really enjoyed owning it and never really had the ability to drive it BUT yesterday on the way home from the tuners, it was smmmmooooth and responsive and a complete pleasure to drive. Paul the tuner found the software easy to use and was impressed with the range of adjustments that could be made.
I am using version 4.13, it just seems strange that it wouldn`t work on two laptops and after a reset but didn`t stop the session, unlike the EVC5
Cheers

Skimmed the last few pages and didn't come across anything so I'm sorry if this was mentioned before...

Is timing implemented yet and if not when will it be? Also, anyone try this on a non-turbo yet? I know it'll work...just wondering if they came across any tuning issues.

I'm too the point now where I want something to adjust timing and if this isn't gonna have it soon I might have to go with the emanage.

Terry

Terry

Before I did my conversion I ran this thing on an NA in AFC mode for a few months.

Terry

I ran my VR4 non-turbo for about 3 weeks no problem (when my y-pipe exploded)

I am running out of fuel in the top-end, even at just 6psi it just will not deliver the fuel i need past about 4k. even when i bumped my base fuel pressure up to about 60psi, it couldnt give me enough fuel. could this be something to do with (i dont know what its called, but the parameter that keeps you from hitting fuel cut)?

and also, does anybody care to give me a run down on how this boost control works and the different settings it has? ive played with it and played with it... and nothing seems to get the desired effect...
