well, you always adjust the tip in stuff after the base tune is done (sounds like you're there). So there are a couple things.

first, if you have done some tuning in the low load range at idle, you may need to adjust the mid load settings in the same RPM range, since those ranges are used right at tip in.

Also, The TPS settings seem to do a better job for this than the MAP based settings, so here's the scoop.

TPS1 is the amount of tip-in compensation, TPS2 is the speed at which the compensation is added and then decays.

Set MAP1 to 0 to turn it off.

This should get you there.

i also have a perfect 14.7:1 around town but i have two questions about my tune

1. my idle is stuck at 11.8-12 no matter what adjustments i make to low load 400rpm and 1200rpm boxes (it was like this when i had the emanage too, i just kind of lived with it)

2. at a VERY low amount of throttle (18-20) on the scanmaster, i run lean like 17:1 and the car starts bucking while im cruising until i give it a lil more gas so it hits 22+. Whats the best way to correct for this?

if i change the low load values at each rpm its going to throw off my tune, i almost feel like i need another load table for LOW TPS and LOW MAP

for the idle, you need to watch the O2's and O2 trims to see what the ECU is trying to do, if the idle is too far off, the ECU gives up and runs open loop at idle. give me some idea of the trims at idle.

The light coasting stuff sounds like the ECU is doing some lean decel stuff. When you put large injectors in and rescale the airflow, the thresholds for the decel enleanment and coastdown fuel cutoff get shifted up. watch the O2 trim when this hapens and see if the ECU has frozen it at 80 or 100. the fix is to tune this region slightly rich. The ECU will still correct it back to 14.7, but during "coastdown" it won't go so lean.

You don't need another load range, but you may want to try tuning the VE table with the laptop..... you can make really fine adjustments this way.....

my ecu has left all my trims at 81, low, mid and high, they havent moved for the last week

i thought 81 means im running rich at low, mid and high

i guess i can fool around with the VE table....if i increase volumetric efficiency in an area, will this richen or lean out that area?

well, the ECU is using the hi,mid, low trims and the O2 trim to control fuel.

You need to watch the O2 trim to see what's going on as far as the decel enleanment and other funky modes like that.

Personally, I tune for trims at 81, it makes the tuning easier, because you only have to watch the O2 trim.

Don't mess with the VE's until you watch the O2 trims and see whats happening...

raising VE raises fuel delivery.

Bob,
What parameters can you log?

Is logging only possible with the laptop?

At the moment we are logging these:

RPM
MAP/Boost
Intake Air Temperature
Throttle position
Wideband AF Ratio or stock O2 sensor
Wideband correction factor
Boost control dutycycle
Calculated airflow
VE
Current tune setting ("User Tune")
MAF signal frequency

Frequency and Airflow of a MAF if connected.

Plans are to add more stuff as it gets implemented

At the moment, only PC logging.

On the Blitz SBC boost controller there is an option for people like me who have external wastegates (Tial, used with DR800s). Is there a setting in the MAFT-Pro that would allow me to use my external wastegates?
