I am going to start ordering each part as I have extra cash available.

The plan is to run the MAFT Pro in speed density mode with wide band 02 and using the MAFT Pro for boost control as well.

Here is my parts list, my current mods are in my sig.

-Custom down pipe and high flow exhaust.

-Injectors Still undecided on whether to use DSM 450's or to go with 550's really could use some help here I want to be able to max my 13g's out.

-Fuel pump still undecided on type but it will be upgraded and hotwired

-MAF Translator Pro
-Lambada Cable with O2 Sensor
-O2 Bung & Plug Kit
-Speed Density Harness for 3S W/MAFT Pro
-MAFT Pro Boost Harness PNP
-High Boost Solenoid for MAFT Pro
-GM 3 Bar MAP Sensor
-GM Air Temp Sensor for MAFT Pro
-Piece of 4 inch OD pipe to replace factory MAS

Let me know if I am missing anything on my list. Once again great thread and hopefully I will be posting some great results in the near future.

MatthewC
good to see the thread helped you out, that was the idea behind it

get a walbro fuel pump, they're loud (i kinda like it for diagnostic purposes) and they're half the price of the denso/supra fuel pump but flow the same

if you want to run pump gas 24/7 on 13gs get 450s
if you want to run race gas sometimes on 13gs get 550s

the maftpro will have no problem correcting either

your parts list looks good

Ok I only have two of these and that is probably all i will ever have (unless there is some crazy demand), but I have those aluminum tubing peices cut to length and I have just verified fitment... which is pretty freakin good aside for them being kinda tight in the induction (anyone using PVC would know what i am talking about). Wall thickness is about .125" so these are pretty rigid... but not nearly as rough of a merger into the induction as the .250" thick PVC.

Here are some pics see for youself. If you want one it will be $20 shipped. PM me if you want it. (Note Turbobob may have spoken for one of them not 100% sure yet).

Ok no more Speed Density insert adapters. You can still PM me if you want one and if there is enough interest I maybe able to get more made. If the interest is there I will begin a thread in the for sale section for these things.

PS. Dont be a knucklehead like me and try to custom mount your MAP Sensor source. This is a delicate instrument and there are more harmonics/sound waves/pressure pulses/surges/etc in the intake plenum than I care to go into. Here is a pic of where I mounted mine, and logs would show up to 5psi deviation from one sample to the next Probably not the best idea for accurate speed density calculations Anyway, Use the standard bung on the throat of the intake right behind the throttle plate.... this is going to get you about the cleanest pressure source you can find.

I also included a pic of where I mounted my IAT Sensor (DONT DO this either, put it in the Y PIPE!).

Is that the right places or the wrong places to mount them? The nipple on the back of the plenum and and a simple tap into y pipe isn't good enough?

The pics are of the wrong spot. Rob put a new vaccuum nipple on the end of the plenum and it was picking up a ton of pulsations at WOT. Once he switched to a normal vaccuum source, the pulsations disappeared.

The tapped Y pipe for the IAT sensor is fine.

(Rob, how about a pic of the new setup?)

ok this is making me mad. no matter what i do it does this. my car when its cold doesnt want to idle, and sometimes the car will kill its self and wont start back up. then when i pull the plugs its got gas all over them. see, but it only does that once a month or so. like today it did it, and now im stuck 7 hours from my house! how can i fix this? my afterstart is at 6, my low load 400-800 is at +1.0%, my 1200 is at 1.5%. sometimes it works witht the car other times it does thios. but no matter what it wont idle when cold.

That's odd, my car runs perfectly... Of course I have a 91, so they may be a little different.

try setting your afterstart to 0. I have an EVO8 customer who's car prefers no afterstart.

Can you tell me your trims, low, mid, high, and O2, warmed at idle and cruise?

Refresh my memory, where is your IAT sensor installed? Can you email me your BIN? What version MAFT Pro do you have (displays the version at startup...)
