PVC is cool as it will work, but the shit is soo thick that you effectively narrow down your inlet about 15mm... which is silly IMHO (100mm vs 85mm). If anyone is interested in the aluminum inserts, I could send out whats extra for ~$10 shipped ea. You just need to then order the 4" flange diameter K&N, apparently the RE-0870 is what I am going to use......

I don't remember what PN my K&N is, but it is the one that fit the LS-1 MAS. I used a piece of 3.5" OD Stainless Steel pipe in the place of the LS-1 MAS and everything has been happy since.

i used a pvc pipe that i got to fit in the stock bubble part, then put a huge 9" k&N filter on the end. i forgot the part number, but i got it at a local performance shop.

p.s.
any word on timing control, i cant take my car over 5000rpms with out getting like 10-12 counts of knock.

Jeremy C,

Youre selling yourself short on that 3.5".... 4" OD fits perfectly.

|4x4 NV,

That piece doesnt appear to be the best thing to run.... looks abit turbulent IMO. Might want to try a straight thru piece of PVC, or a 4" OD metal Thin walled tube... for reasons I mentioned above.

Soon I will have mine and snap a few shots.. gonna place the order for the K&N thru IPO I guess...

Rob

truthfully, with 9b's i dont think it matters.. they arent going to pull that much air anyways...

I dont care what it is... putting a brick wall around the perimeter of any bore is not the best way to help airflow.... but whateva

I had a 3.5" K&N that was practically brand new (5 months old) and the steel was free. I figure my next purchase will be a twin take, so I didn't feel the price of a new filter and piping was justifiable.

Ive been having piston slap that has progressivly been getting worse and Ive pretty much decided to build the engine in January. Im going with stock compression Ross Pistons and I am interested in using the MAFT Pro and canning the HKS AFR. My biggest concern is that when the engine is built and I am breaking it in is the MAFT Pro going to be able to be set up without damaging the unbroken in, very volunerable engine without causing any problems. Ive seen what happens to fresh engines that run rich/lean or get hurt being tuned and I do not want the same thing to happen to me.

I plan on taking the belt of the supercharger and running the car without boost for the break in period.

I want to set the car up using speed density
