I think my cars drunk...
|
well the spray from the nozzle pulses, but that might be a function of the pump, not the current going to it
i dont think the current is pulsed, because i have a GREEN led on that same wire that feeds the pump 12v and it doesnt flash repeatedly, it constantly stays on until i stop spraying i'll move my target afr tomorrow before work thanks for the suggestion

When I get my Pro what AF should I aim for at all rpms and all loads? I'll be using 91 octane. Do you aim for the same AF for all rmps and in the 3 different loads or what? Or do you run it leaner at lower rpms then richen it up or what? I would really like to know.
TurboBob. Do you have a log of your AF in close loop and open loop I can see? I just want to see what your running. Also, I just want to clear sometime up. In the thread Jeremy G made (New product on the horizon) he said this "AFR tracking Close loop WOT fuel control can be enabled when an Innovate Wide band controller is connected to the Trans pro you can access the AFR tracking table where "target air fuel" ratios can be entered by load and RPM. The T-Pro then receives feed back from the wide band and corrects the air fuel ratio back to the target number under WOT conditions." now my question is, is it close loop or open loop WOT? The reason why I can is how can you be WOT in close loop? I'm still trying to figure tuning out (more less close/open loop). I dont get the loops yet. Is this right: Close loop is only at idle, low-load cruising (meaning when its not working hard to move the car?) and low-load acceleration (meaning not accelerting fast/hard?). And open loop is moderate-load and high-load acceleration (meaning hard accelerting fast/hard?). Is this right: Fuel Tune Low (idle) = close loop Fuel Tune Mid (cruise)= close loop Fuel Tune High (WOT) = open loop So if the Pro has AFR tracking in close loop at WOT then what would be the point? I just need alittle help then I think I got it figured out.

The Pro will adjust WOT fueling to maintain your desired AF Ratio. Since it is using "feedback" (the wideband) to control something, the Pro is operating a closed loop control of A/F ratio. Note that the ECU is operating open loop at WOT....(O2 trim locked at 100%) I would set the AF Ratio target for 11.5:1 as a starting point. (all RPMs) The ECU operates closed loop during idle and cruise using the regular O2 sensors for feedback. The Trims assist the ECU to maintain a proper AF ratio during closed loop operation. Since both of my cars had their trims (low, mid,hi) at ~81% when they were bone stock, I have been tuning for ~81% trims with the pro. When the trims are at 81%, then you can just tune with the O2 trim, so you only have to watch one thing....... I currently don't have a wideband in my Stealth, just in my GN. There are some screenshots over at FullThrottleTech. Bob

Ok...I think that makes more since.
So what should I try to get my trims too? And trims percentages are what? Like when you say "Since both of my cars had their trims (low, mid,hi) at ~81% when they were bone stock, I have been tuning for ~81% trims with the pro." 81% is what? What AF do you try to aim for at idle and cruse..not just WOT and TAF? My car right now is really rich at idle...I would like to bring that down some (mods in sig). I think I get everything other then the trim thingy. |

Probably the big fuel pump+hotwire overwelming the fuel pressure regulator at idle. Also, when the catalysts have been 'modded' there can be some fuel smell even if everything is perfect.
I think you have some basic combination and tuning issues to figure out before you look at bigger mods... You should invest in a logger, and a fuel pressure regulator of some sort. Once the stock system is properly in control, you can take it to the next level.... Bob |
