One thing odd with the Mitsu's is that they have a lean afterstart condition that we fix with the afterstart enrichment. So when you start the car the tune will be off for a minute or 2. So be sure to run the car for a little while when tryint to tune the idle.

What were your cruise O2 trims?

Bob
sorry, ive been all over the place today, i drove 3 hours to NY, put on a new hatch with some cool guys i met up there (kaddo and fizzz) then came back to school where i had 2 days worht of work to catch up on

4x4 the TPS is too high, 4.96 is like right at 97% or so for tps

1.3v is around 50% i think, im not sure where i set mine to, but im sure its 2.5

runner just like bob, my car is also very stable at idle

dont fiddle with the lo, mid and high for the time being

put your car in the 'on' position and try -5% mainscale and turn it on, then try -8% and then -10% see which works best for your idle

pretty much every value on the sensor monitor page shoudl change when you blip the throttle (if one is not, that wire may have a bad connection) and this would explain the cars rough idle

Okay, thanks. I have a datalog with some changes from last night as turbobob instructed. If this matters.

This is at mainscale +5%

low and mid 400 RPM -5%
low and mid 800 RPM -5%
low 1200RPM -2.5%

looks like the 02 trim is rich

try what i said before -5% mainscale, -8% and then -10%

just keep trying differnet things, you dont need to do one thing, then come inside and post up hoping for us to figure it out....trial and error is your friend....its tough for us to help without a wideband

I have a wideband.

As I lean out, the idle gets worse.
Maybe this will help. My idle is good during the cold start part. When it drops after heating up is when this occurs.

Okay, I won't take up too much more of this thread on this topic. I'll just keep playing with it, to get things straight though, I'm supposed to make a change and expect an instant change, or make a change and then drive for like 10 minutes.

Thanks for your help guys.

you should see an instant change

at idle you should be aiming for 14.7 on the wideband

Yeah, but that's not the problem, it hits 14.7 but won't stay there. It looks more like 12.1, 12.8, 13.2, 13.7, 14.7, 15.2, 16.3, 17.2, 18.1, 17.2, 16.4, 15.4, 14.4, 13.7, 12.1 over the span of 2 seconds.

His O2 sensor may be slow.

But you might try turning the BISS screw 2 turns CCW. It will raise your idle a bit, but the ECU wil lower it back down over a day or 2. It may help stabilize your idle.

check your RPM wire connection, its VERY sensitive, even with a good connection, if i tug on the wire, the rpms drop and come back up again
