at idle what pressure are you guys reading? dumb question i know but i went out and bought a brand new MAP sensor and it reads the same as my old one which is -9.8 to 10.5 i know its wrong but it was from 2 sources and i really dont think i have that big of a leak to drop my manifold down that much. vacuum hoses arnt collaped or anything. i cant figure it out. any suggestions? it idles like junk and stalls out. its also in open loop/or med load. should i try a third one? it reads boost to a tee.... im out of ideas... thnaks

Idling at -9.8 to -10.5 psi is fine. Vacuum in inches is twice psi.. so your actually around 20" of vacuum. Are you using Bob's .bin? What firmware version are you using on the T-Pro?
BTW your AFR gain is really high. Do you have an oscillating AFR at WOT?

oh ok good. i started off using bobs bin. im pretty sure im running 4.8X. and yes i do have oscillating AFR.. i thought it was my wideband speed. i was going to slow the reading down to read every 1/16 of a second and n ot instantainiest. ill lower my gain first. thanks for the advice. where should i start to fix my idle issue? i've searched this thread and nothing seems to match my problem.

New problem:

Sometimes after the car is completely warmed up, I think the ECU is getting stuck in closed loop mode when at idle. When this happens, the afr goes to 13.0 and sticks there no matter what. Any/all changes I make to the Maft Pro have no affect. I've verified this by changing the mainscale by + or - 30%, having no effect whatsoever on the AFR readings.

I have both my stock O2 sensors UNPLUGGED, so, how is the ECU going into closed loop mode when at idle? How can I resolve this issue? I absolutely need to figure this out if I stand a chance at passing smog!

Please any advice is greatly appreciated. I'd rather not plug the stock O2 sensors back in just yet as I feel the stock low fuel trim adjustments are too drastic and cause cycling rich/lean conditions at idle. I'd rather let pt tracking and the wideband make all the fuel adjustments at idle. How can I get the ECU stuck in open loop mode at idle such that maftpro adjustments affect the resulting AFR???

I'd like to some opinions on:
*what you think i could do to get my idle better.
*CEL with no attached code.
* any other adjustments you think i should make.

Thanks in advance.

Chris,
First thing I would suggest is updating to version 5.03. And use Bob’s latest .bin that he posted a few pages ago (make sure you adjust the mainscale for your injectors).
I would also disconnect the battery for a little bit to reset the factory ECU. The ECU might have given up looking at the MAF input during idle.

The ECU might’ve just given up looking at the MAF input during idle, which is why your changes aren’t having any effect.. I suggest resetting the ECU, and then tune – watch your AFRs and trims. Get the trims in line.

What T-Pro version are you using?

Hmm, okay I can try this and let you know what happens. FYI I feel that my current tune is good, car is running great... just every once in a while it get's stuck in closed loop mode. Tune is already on-par.
