Do have an issue though. I have tried calibrating several times but to no avail. After I blip the throttle (from idle) the AFR readings are all over the place. Usually runs up to 18-20 AFR then settles back to ~14. Also the RPMS drop way low to about 400 and the car tries to die. Most of the time it recovers but sometimes not. I haven't drove it far with these settings since I don't feel I have a reliable AFR reading and the car sputters out after shifting.

I lowered my fuel pressure to about 37 psi and set my mainscale to -40. If it's just sitting I can get it to read and AFR of about 14.5. I haven't done any other low, med, high adjustments yet. Just mainscale so far.

I'm still learning tuner pro and mmcd. Not sure yet how to record and post a log. If you think that would help i'll give myself a crash course and post something up.

post your settings.

what injectors?

you need to be able to run MMCd to tune, get that running first.

Then update the Pro to version 5.03, posted above. Use the TPCU software to update the unit, its easier. Then load in my BIN. Then adjust the mainscale until the car runs ok, and start tuning by trims. Watch what O2 trim does, its will tell you if the car is rich or lean. Shoot for an O2 trim of 80, with the main trims learned down to 81.

(TPCU can be downloaded from the full throttle web site)

thats the cel from the MAFT-pro runs rough, lunges at or around 2800-3200rpm(but not lean, just a bit too rich but nothing that would cause the car to jump, doesn't do it in the early mornings, drive it for about 30 mins it begins, no intake leaks, essentially everything is new on this setup, double checked maft-pro setup in SD, everything is as it should be. the only thing I can think of is the spark plug gap is too big.. .038 running an MSD DIS-4, I'll lower the gap to .032 tomorrow,
3.1L
DR-650's
DRR stage III heads
720 injectors
hotwired pump w/42 psi fuel pressure
oh yeah, ecu was rebuilt a yr ago--ran great on previous setup(ARC-2)

currently have SD mode with 4.80 version software

car runs fine until that 3000k rpm range, the LC-1 wideband will at times stick on about 7.9 afr (essentially not working), I've checked/double checked the connections, the ground, etc, it is wired just as in the diagram as suggested by the 1rst page of this thread.

Seriously this car was running top notch no more than 2 weeks ago and now

things I've done
verified everything is connected properly
verified setup/tune, etc
checked all sensors except wideband 02(about 4k miles on it)

intake pressure test--fine
any vacuum/exhaust leak--fine
checked tps
checked IAC, etc, etc

things I havn't done:
replace spark plugs with lower gap
recalibrate LC-1
play with tune(which I don't think needs it)

any suggestions..

thanks
James G

I have your 5.00 bin loaded with the mainscale ajusted to -40%. I'm running 720cc denso injectors. I had disconnected the stock O2 sensors to try and let the maft pro control everything and put the ECU in open loop 100%. Is that a bad idea considering my lack of tuning skills?

The settings should be the same as what you had. I'll try the 5.03 and log a run with mmcd.

CEL on the Pro is the Cell # in the VE table that is being used, its not an error code.

what are your trims doing?

open loop is fine, and does simplify things. leave the tracking off and get the base tune close first.

BTW, how do I turn tracking off? (I assume you meant AFR tracking)

I dropped in some new spark plugs and went for a low boost run. It did pretty good. Seemed like the 5.03 was a bit better than before. Held boost to 10psi no problem and the car felt fine. (Actually it felt awesome to have it running again! Even at 10psi it had some balls!) AFR readings didn't go crazy this time (I redid the LC-1 Cal with free air) I'm not sure they are 100% reliable yet. I'm going to recheck my grounds.

I still have a nagging issue at idle though. It want to die after tapping the throttle lightly. No problem at highway speeds since there is not a chance for the idle to drop low. Harder to deal with at stop lights and in reverse.

I will attempt to log a run in the next few days and see what I can come up with for ya.

btw what turbos do you currently run?

thanks chris
