550cc injectors, therefore mainscale set to -34.5%
Low tune requires upwards of +20% to rev in neutral, but when I cruise
at light throttle, the CF starts pulling -14% to -18% ????

Anyone got an idea about this? Or a box of matches?
all injectors have different dynamic characteristics, so a straight size % will not be accurate at all RPMs.

I would adjust the mainscale until the car cruises well.

The lean cruise will cause CF to read higher. i.e. if you are tuned so 14.7:1 cruises at -5%, and lean cruise turns on at 15.5:1, then CF will go to about -15%.

disable lean cruise, or set it to match your regular cruise AFR, and tune it to average -5%. Then set your lean cruise back to whatever you want.

The CF% for normal cruise is limited to +/- 15%, lean cruise is limited to +15%/-25%.

I used 2 different laptops (one with winxp and one with vista) with the same result. The update software will show "maft pro detected" then the next line will show "break pulse sent" and then show a counter, count up n keep counting. The cable from sewelldirect works fine with the palm 515 which is at least a plus. I used 2 different laptops (one with winxp and one with vista)

I was able to use an old desktop computer with a standard serial port to update the maft but that was a real pain to lug all the crap out to the garage. Plus tunerpro will be unusable with a laptop like this.

Also, I have been unable to locate my tunerpro rt software. Is there a way to get or download another copy? I purchased my maft pro from your site, it would take some searching but I should be able to prove it if needed. Now that I have the wideband hooked up that software is very important again.

I have updated using the Sewell cable (WinXP) with no problems. Hopefully they have not changed their cables. I will try it again later today.

Tunerpro is more forgiving of the USB cables. You should have no issues logging with any of the USB cables.

Are there any baud settings or something like that I can look at that might make a difference? What's weird is that it sees the maft pro but then nothing.

I did not get the chance to try it yesterday, but there are no baud rate settings to change.

OK, newb question time. I've tried looking for the RPM signal on the CAS pin 2, but havn't found a wiring diagram to make sure which one is the wire i need to tap. Will be diving into it in the next few says, is there a diagram somewhere in these 200 some pages or a link to find the right one? I've spent the last hour looking on here, and google.

Thanks

I ran the update procedure last night using the Sewell cable on a newer XP laptop. Worked fine, but I had to manually install the drivers for the cable.

I got the drivers from the Prolific website, TPCU is posted at Full Throttle.

See signature for setup.

In my initial tuning stages, I'm focusing on idle and low load tune (haven't even started to look at mid or high load, WOT, Boost Control, etc...).

I'm having problems getting the car to idle properly (it seems to bounce from stoich to lean to rich almost at random). I've experimented with unplugging the stock O2s and plugging them back in with no huge difference. Is there any advice you can give me? I've just been toying with mainscale and low-load adjustments. Car runs fine when it's in gear and i'm driving around the block.

I've attached my settings (see exportTProV4800.txt).

I was expecting to attach the log, but it exceeds the 100k attachment limit. Basically, the thing idles okay for a couple minutes, I just tap the gas pedal, then the wideband jumps around from lean to rich (extreme to extreme), then it goes completely lean for 15 seconds or so before the engine finally dies (this is all after minutes of semi-rough idleing). Idle seems to be completely random, I just can't keep it under control. Help!
