I'll check my timing.

I have an aftermarket fpr, and it's set to 42.5 psi at 0 psi.

When I accelerate it completely loses track of the 14.7 afr goal. It tends to have a range of 11.5 to 13 for any light acceleration.

I'll get back to your tonight with timing

Timing stays pretty close to 20 for the mild and moderate accelerations.

Maybe I found the problem though (or a clue!). My check engine light has been on due to the no o2 sensors (#11 on the error code), but today I saw that there is also code #12, MAS signal I believe. Why am I getting this?

don't know, that only sets if the signal is gone for a while.....

at 20 degrees timing, light boost, rich AFR. I can't believe its really knocking.

Perhaps oil vapor thru the PCV system?

Or drippy turbos that load the intercoolers up with oil, which comes out when you squeeze it?

Add octane and see if the symptom changes.

So I plugged the laptop up to see what was going on, and transient response is going pretty awall between .1 and .9, but I pushed upload to laptop (i thought) and all of the settings on the pro were changed. After that happened, I started driving, and it (for the moment, and I doubt it will still be good tomorrow) drove like a king! I think I reset the pro, but it was interesting to find that alot of the low and mid were not set to zero (maybe I set it to a tune I had before?). Worked pretty well anyway. Maybe it's just a tease. I'll let you know if anythings changes tomorrow

Yeah, usb to whatever connects to the cord, I think a db9 serial port.

Well, even with a completely different tune I have the same problem. I know the transient response was fluctuating alot, but I don't remember if I was driving or not when I saw it bouncing. If you're coasting, is transient response supposed to move, or stay at zero? If it's supposed to stay at zero, then the problem probably lies in my tps wiring somewhere.

Transient response is all over, mostly under 1.0, but it bounces alot, even at idle. I re-soldered the tps stuff, but it didn't do anything. I tried wiggling the harness into the pro, and it did nothing. I tried pushing in the tps sensor, it did nothing. I tried wiggling the wires that lead into the tps sensor...nothing.

The top wire and bottom wire leading into the tps sensor are frayed a bit because they do almost a 180 to get into the harness. They're on opposite sides of each other so I don't think they're crossing voltages, but I think it says something about the wiring in my car...

Is there anything I can do?

The transient response may jitter a little. As long as its under 1.0 it wont affect anything. Its only for tip-in, and if the car doesn't stutter when you tip the throttle, you are ok.

Bob - can you take a look at this thread for me? I am having knock issues which i am damn sure are false knock and it might have something to do with the MAFT PRO settings.

Knock sensor help! LIMP MODE?

I didn't have these issues last year, but i rebuilt my motor this winter and tore my dash out so who knows... I was setup for PT Tuning and Timing control. Although i need to know how to deactivate them both. I was playing around the the idle, cruise TPS and RPM for part throttle trying to defeat them, but didn't notice a difference. I also cut the white and gray wires for timing and reconnected the blue CAS wire and just T-tapped the white (i think) wire back into it.

Do you have any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Brian
