In case anyone had the same problem I did - I thought I would post my solution. The problem was that TunerPro would not run on the new laptop I purchased with the Vista Home Premium Edition operating system, after my old laptop died. Although the software appeared to install OK, it failed when I tried to start the program. The error was "Unable to extract IO.SYS. Log in as a user who has such permission." Mark Mansur said I should log on as Administrator to fix the problem. Administrator is not enabled in Vista Home Premium by default, and it took a bit of searching the 'net to find the correct commands to enable it. Here is what I found to work:
1. right click on the command prompt icon, and select "run as administrator" 2. from the command prompt, run "net user administrator p@@@word" (make up your own password for the administrator account, and don't forget it) 3. at the prompt, run "net user administrator /active:yes" I read that you could get to administrator account by using the F8 escape key and selecting safe mode. That did enable me to switch from my normal user ID to administrator, but I got another error when I tried to run TunerPro in safe mode - "IO.DLL - unable to start the IO.SYS service". So I just rebooted normally and found that the Administrator account was now available at the logon screen. After logging on as Administrator, TunerPro started properly. When I log in as my normal user ID, TunerPro will not start unless I right click and select "run as administrator". Hope this helps someone out there. Eric

Excitable at high speeds
|
I just installed the maft pro a couple of days ago (vs 4.4) and I'm using the numbers that the manual gave. I don't know what's going on because when I start the car it runs fine for a minute and then the rpm's and a/f start bouncing alot and it gets worse and kills itself. I didn't solder the wires but I've pulled on all of my connections multiple times and they seem firm. I also have the stock o2's in. The way the car is running makes me think it's not the tune. Should I go through and redo the wiring using solder or should I unplug the o2's? (how long does it take to unplug the o2's, i know where the front is but not the back on a 91 stealth tt)
Thanks guys

I unplugged my o2's and the car runs smoother, but I can't get it to idle above 14.0 without bouncing because of leaness and killing itself. I tried adjusting the min MAP tps response to .05 about my idle TPS because my TAF was 12.4 but that didn't do anything, nor did it change my TAF. Does that change for idle? How do lean it out? Any ideas? Mostly stock setup, just need help.

stealthystu, upgrade to version 4.80 and that should help matters.
