So true. After putting my trans back in my car I was doing my test drive, and when I decided to boost I heard a pop and went right back into vacuum. Not wanting to stop yet I drove about a mile up the road to a gas station before fixing that little problem.

It also makes for easy testing of the engine without putting all your intake piping back in place.

I just ordered the MAFT-PRO and all the stuff to convert to speed density for my upcoming TT conversion. I would like to spend a weekend prior to the conversion to wireup the MAFT-PRO and make sure everything is hooked up correctly before I jump into doing the actual conversion. Will this speed density setup be able to produce a good enough translation even when the car will only be in vacum? Also, I assume since Jeremy C's car is 10:1, that the VE tables are close enough for a 10:1 engine? (This will also be with an NA ecu so I guess the different ignition maps may affect real VE somewhat also, but I don't know if its enough to worry about)

The VE is fine. And my car runs flawlessly atm. I've had the T-Pro in my car now since June. I have had a few odd problems pop up here and there, but I feel they are from me learning to tune via the school of hard knocks and not the hardware at all. I honestly spend as much time in vacuum as I do boost, so I feel it's fine.

so this is a little of the maftpro topic, but i ordered both the maftpro and the LC-1/XD-1 wideband. i recieved the wideband this weekend, but the maftpro should arrive until later this week, so i decided to install the wideband.

to install, i pluged the 12 acc wire up the the 12 acc wire on the ecu, both ground other than the heater ground up to the ecu ground, and the heater ground is plugged up to a chasis ground.

i did all the 10 seconds/2 min wait stuff you were supposed to do, but the XD-1 still reads --.-

i checked all the conections, wideband to LC-1 is good, LC-1 OUT to extension, extension to XD-1 IN, but nothing.. after doing all the first time stuff, i tried to calibrate it using the XD-1. can you do this or do you have to rig something up with the calibration wire which i dont have hookedu to anything?! would not calibrating it be the reason its reading --.-?

Thanks!
~Richard

there is a jumper plug that goes in the end of one of the serial connections, I cant remember which.

But after you plug the jumper in you have to power the system down and back up so it can re-establish communications......

At least thats what I had to do to make it work......

yea, i wasnt sure about this plug, currently i have it pluged into the OUT signal from the XD-1, but maybe i should try using it in the IN signal on the LC-1?

after this it should be able to calibrate, correct?

yes.

I was trying the different cable configurations with the units on, which led me nowhere. You have to set the plugs up, and then turn in on. When you have it right, it will work. Then hold the button on the XD-1 for 3 sec and it will start a calibration. There is the heater calibration cycle as well......

Once you are all done, the setup really works great, I love mine!

Ok having a few more problems.

My car still wants to die when I push the clutch in and let the rpms fall from 4K or so.

Also, the car doesn't want to stay running on a restart when the car is warm. It idles great right at 14.7ish but when the car is hot, it will start then die right away. any suggestions?
